So... I'm a fresh outta college kid living in my parents basement with no one that I know within 50 miles. Where the hell do I meet people in Pittsburgh? My job doesn't help, I work with a bunch of 40+ retired teachers, and I don't know any bars or clubs that fit my style(plus its weird to go alone). Any suggestions?

You guys aren't giving me much hope for reinvigorating my social life lol

Sorry dude. I would like to help, But I moved from Pittsburgh some 15 years ago or so. I have no idea what scene is like anymore.

Well...water just broke. In around 24 hours I become a grandfather.

Hey Gentlemen and ladies if there's any of you out there, I am doing a GM Mock, just a few forums up, we need 9 GM's total, I need a GM for our Steelers among others. It's pretty in depth, if you think you have the time and might be interested, please feel free to take a look and/or pm me for info.

I am also looking for 3 more Non-GM's to be delegates.

How many of you guys have been to a Penn State game in Beaver Stadium within the last few years?

I'm going on Saturday, it's looking like it's going to be 52 and possibly some rain.

This is actually going to be my first experience in Beaver Stadium, anyone got any advice for me? Very Happy

Lol.

I am a Pitt fan too. But I was 'born' a PSU fan, won't cheer for anyone over them.

I am the same way...I grew up 20 minutes from Pittsburgh but was a kid in the early 80's when PSU won their National Championship. So they have been my favorite college team since but I also root heavily for the Panthers.

Second'd. Thanks for the appreciative words.

I, being Active Duty, stationed in CONUS, would like to add my appreciation to all those serving in the various parts of the globe. I'm fortunate enough to currently be in CONUS, yet know what it feels like to be separated from family/friends and the "creature comforts" of home.

I'm truly appreciative of the tens of thousands out at sea, in Afghanistan and the various duty stations in the Persian Gulf, PACOM, and other locations in harms way every day--those that do NOT get a day off to enjoy this 3 day weekend, or heck, any weekend.

And of course, what this day is TRULY for, are those that served in the past, the veterans. While not easy to serve in today's times, it was infinitely more arduous to serve in times past, before the advent of Skype, IM, e-mail, etc., that allows us current Active Duty types to stay in somewhat close contact with our loved ones. BLUF, thank you Veterans for serving to allow us the freedom to live life that we are able to live today!

Well after a long and hard 7 months of job searching following graduation, during which I had to move back home up in Erie, I finally accepted a job offer back in Pittsburgh today.

Moving back to the city I love so much!
