So Harbaugh said there is a chance Aldon could be back in a few weeks.

Nothing really big, but possibly preferential treatment from Santa Clara County Sheriff. The sheriff just sounds so suspect and the way she responded wasn't really good. I understand she didn't do anything legally wrong or whatever, but how do you not see and understand how this really makes you and your department look a bit suspect. Imo, she should've just apologized and admitted it was a mistake to avoid a lot of contraversy, now things seem suspicious.

Pretty much, the sheriff looks like an absolute idiot in this case.

These the existing charges I assume? Seems like he is going through a process. Good luck to him.

I think he's just young and dumb not an idiot. He's what? 23 years old? He's still a kid and hopefully he learned by his mistakes. I'm just worried about the suspension Goddell is going to lay on him with his mighty hammer.

Being young isn't an excuse to be ignorant. He's paid, very handsomely, to be a professional and he's failed at it. The whole "well he's young so it's understandable" line of thinking is played. His team is paying him to be available and right now he's not only hurting himself, but also hurting the team that pays him a kings ransom to play a game.

My point? I just hate the he's young line of thinking. I'm young, 24, and I've never been in trouble with the law and I darn sure have never needed rehab. His age has nothing to do with anything. He needs to mature and he needs to do it fast.

He's taken steps to do just that and that's the most important step because it shows that he knows he has a problem.

EDIT: Not saying you were saying it's an excuse because he's young, just pointing it out that I don't like that line of thinking because age really is irrelevant.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think he's doing rehab to appease everybody, mainly Goddell. I think he made a couple huge mistakes and this is the PC way to BS his way out of it. I seriously doubt he has "a problem".

The weapons charge is from the 2012 party where he got stabbed because gang members crashed the party and wouldn't leave. Basically he bought weapons as a rookie in Arizona and didn't modify them to California laws which are some of the strictest. This is not a new incident. The incidents were the 2012 DUI, everything that happened at his party in 2012, then the DUI/pot thing where he crashed his truck into a tree this year. Just clearing it up for people that think this gun thing is a new incident. Either way though yeah he made some really bad choices. Too bad because didn't seem like he was that kind of guy when he came to us from Missouri. I don't know if he let the money go to his head or what. I don't think he's a full blown alcoholic just drinks and makes stupid choices. Pot is another thing although I don't believe he is a heavy user. Not sure on that though.

The gun charges are a joke. They were unmodified sitting in his house. It's not like he was open carrying his guns at a club and started firing off rounds.

I think he is doing things the right way and I think Goddell (who I can't stand) will see that he is making an effort. I doubt the NFL does anything about the gun charges and he already said that him excusing himself from the team will play into any suspension.

Oh, okay. I didn't know it was an old charge. Regardless he needs to get his act together. His team NEEDS him to get his act together for the post season.
