Tough break on the double play Alvarez hit into. Wainwright is pitching inconsistent so far, hopefully we can take advantage of it. We are running up his count.

Cole is running his own count up now, if its anything like game 4 that 2 run HR by Freese could be the game.

It's been a pitching duel since game 3. 2 runs will probably do it.

All that for nothing.

Our bullpen sucked when it mattered most.

Ehh.

Its disappointing, but I never expected to make it to the World Series. Our bats are too inconsistent.

I am happy this team finally got over the hump.....lets hope they can carry it into next year.

The youth is exciting thats for sure. And they never shrank away from the moment. I hope Alvarez gets a huge confidence boost from everything he accomplished this year and finally takes the cleanup spot.

He became the first player in history to get RBIs in his first six postseason games. He still needs to cut down on the strikeouts and make more consistent contact but he did have a terrific postseason.

Disappointing loss but the season was incredibly memorable. To be watching the Pirates in October was something I never thought I would see again. The future is bright. No more Clint Barmes. Thank God. I thought the acquisition of Morneau was good but he was a bust. NO homers at all. Byrd was a great pickup. Do they try to resign him or let one of the youngsters take over in RF? What happens to Burnett?

Some important decisions to make in the offseason but they are obviously going in the right direction.

Barmes needs to be removed from our lineup permenantly, and I think the Coaching Staff needs to reevaluate the quality of our bullpen. For a Bullpen that has been pretty solid all season, they failed miserably in the most important game of the Pirates' season.

Cole did a great job, I'm not going to fault him for the 2 runs, it was a tough team, he made a mistake against a really good batter and he paid for it, the fact that the top of our line up...or rather...no one in our lineup could make something happen, outside of Alvarez, is ridiculous. I don't really understand why Marte and Walker are even leading off the batter order if they were 1/34 combined in this series..

How do you like that? Liriano wins CBPOTY, Melancon comes in second, Byrd comes in third. ALL of them Neal Huntington acquisitions. Pretty much pencils him in for GM of the Year, too.

So Cardinals sit at 2 games to 1 on the Red Sox....

If not for Wacha turning into Nolan Ryan in the playoffs it very possibly could've been the Pirates.

I just pray its a sign of things to come and we continue to work towards being a competitive team.

Remember when the Penguins were awful for so many years? Hopefully the Pirates will change their ways like the Pens did.

Pirates took the Cards to the limit, they looked more competitive against them than the Dodgers. Definitely feel the Cards/Pirates were the two best teams in the NL this year.
