Lets get some excitement brewing in Carolina!
With a victory, we can get right back in the thick of things with a 2-2 record and remain ahead of Atlanta, who sits at 1-3. A win would also keep us right there in that second spot in the NFC Wildcard race and ultimately it will be interesting to see how Philadelphia, Rams, Packers, and 49ers perform.
Keys to the Game
1. Do not let Arizona's defensive line control the game. Our success comes when we establish a run game opponents have to respect, which takes pressure off of Newton to do everything and opens stuff up in the passing game. Arizona fields one of the best and more underrated defensive lines in the NFL and could disrupt our offensive gameplan. Silatolu has played very well thus far so hopefully he continues.
2. Secondary has to continue to play as well as they have been this year. Fitzgerald has 3 touchdowns in 4 games and still remains one of the best receivers in the NFL (and in NFL history for that matter). Our DBs must play like they have so far, particularly in the Giants game, or else Fitzgerald and Floyd could end up carving us up.
3. Limit mistakes. Self explanatory. Daryl Washington is back for this game and he is one of the best playmakers at LB in the NFL and everyone knows about Patrick Peterson, who figures to erase Smith from the offense. Newton needs to make smart decisions or else Arizona has the talent on D to capitalize. _________________

I think we have to rattle Palmer, doing that puts their offense out of sync. _________________

Agreed. Palmer is a QB that makes a of mistakes when under pressure. If our front 7 can get to him early and often, we can win this game easily. However, if we don't get pressure the Cards could put a lot of points up.
My prediction: Panthers 31-Cards 24 _________________

Win or stay there. I really dont have much more to say at this point. The Cards arent a good team. Either we beat them convincingly or Rivera has to go. And quite possibly Cam as well. I cant defend either of them forever. Both need to step up. _________________

This.
5 years since our last playoff run...8 years since our last playoff win. Losing cannot continue here. |

how can you blame Cam. since we have bought him in the front office has done NOTHING to help him. we have never made a move in FA/draft to improve his WR. guys like hixon/ginn dont really count. Olson was a huge move, but we still need another TE. Also we have not helped the O-line at all. |

I can blame him because I watch him miss open receivers and struggle to hit receivers in stride and because I never see him truly step up. He doesnt do a lot to help the receivers he has. Am I blaming everything on Cam? Of course not. Does he carry his share? Without a doubt. This isnt a great QB with nothing to throw to. This is an inconsistent QB with inconsistent targets outside Smith and Olsen (two great targets).
I want to see him step up. I want to see more than I have. If you think this is all he has, then we are in trouble. _________________

this has been the type of game we've lost since our last playoff run. we're the better team, we need to win to put ourselves in a good spot at getting a wild card. it would be nice to come out and smack the cards in the mouth early and make a statement _________________
