Clearly this is a huge hypothetical lets project out the season a little. The Eagles are clearly in a re-buildiong stage putting in a new offense and new defense and the lack of talent on this team is apparent. If the Eagles were to finish the season at 4-12 or 3-13 they could have a shot at the top pick in the draft (we're just gonna ignore Jacksonville).
Situation:
Defense: The Eagles currently own a bottom 2 defense in the NFL giving up more points than teams like Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Oakland. It is widely regarded that our defense is missing multiple pieces and a consistent pass rush from a talent like Clowney would be a huge upgrade.
Offense: Despite sputtering these past couple weeks Vick has moved the offense pretty well and the Eagles have an above average offense averaging almost 25 points per game. Thas said Vick is a free agent next season and not getting any younger.
The question is very simple: Who would you take and what would be your plan to address the other side of the ball? _________________

I'm seriously torn over who I would take in this situation. Bridgewater is considered the best QB in his class and clearly would put this franchise in the right direction moving forward on offense. That said, Clowney is the best player available on the defensive side of the ball and defense is clearly our biggest need. _________________

On defense use the rest of our draft picks - can still get good edge rushers at the top of the 2nd or 3rd rounds. _________________

I'd take Teddy.
Our defense is atrocious but we have some good players up front.
Teddy is going to be elite _________________

Teddy all day long. OLB not nearly as valuable as franchise QB. |

Well secondary is moreso than front seven...though we badly need a pass rusher.
Also QB is our biggest individual need IMO.
We are rebuilding and we don't have a franchise QB.
I believe you draft your QB first then go after everything else.
Obviously don't force the pick, a la Jax taking Gabbert.
But if it were Teddy, you take him. We are a team that is in rebuild mode without a franchise qb _________________

How do you not take a possible franchise QB when given the chance?
We need a QB of te future badly and this is QB driven league. I would be extatic (it's that the word?) if we were to come out of the draft with a top talent at QB. _________________

Kinda reminds me when Houston took Mario over Vince (and Reggie, I guess). Not that Vince is Teddy, or Mario is Clowney, but I remember the debates whether you take QB, DE, or RB, etc. etc. _________________

This was basically the comparison I had in my head and made me actually second guess my normal thought process (and Marky's) of "Franchise QB >>>>>> everything else" .
If we added Clowney and then traded back into the back end of the first to grab a Mariota/Boyd/whoever in this stacked QB class it might be the better value play than adding Bridgewater and getting a top of the second defensive player (ya know like Nate Allen). _________________

Teddy5.
It's close though. But the difference maker is the work ethic.
Clowney being out of shape and not being able to consistently stay on the field is a negative for me. Enough so to make the difference in this case.
With that being said, we are well on our way to a top ten pick at the rate we are playing at. This week's game might be very telling about what we might be able to expect in terms of draft position. _________________
