After such a a drubbing at the hands of the Saints it is tough to not look at the negative, so that is what we will be doing. Poor performances cropped up across the board, from defense on all three levels to almost anyone on offense the "award" this week is wide open.

The nominees are;

Levi Brown - Beaten for a sack and multiple other pressures by Junior Galette, he did hold up OK in the run game though.

Eric Winston - Was the whipping boy for the breaking out Cameron Jordan all game long, a couple of sacks, no push in the running game, other pressures allowed. Just terrible.

Carson Palmer - Threw a couple of bad INT's accuracy was off and while he was under a bit of pressure, that was only on 13 of his 39 dropbacks (Per PFF). He created pressure that was not there and rushed some throws. An all round bad game from the QB.

Bruce Arians - Come on Bruce. Run the dang ball. We had something going on the ground early, especially on the first drive that bought about a touchdown. Then, inexplicably, he abandoned it in favor of throwing it despite the pressure, despite the struggles of Carson, he refused to run the ball. Terrible, terrible playcalling.

Todd Bowles - The gameplan he came up with just did not work. While he rotated Bell, Mathieu and finally Peterson onto Jimmy Graham he failed to realize that the only matchup we had on him that had a chance of working was bracket coverage. It might have made things a little more difficult elsewhere, but we could not let Graham beat us like he did. It seems like Bowles does not know how to combat a quality TE. This could be a trend.

As always the 'other' category is open for write in votes.

Who you got?

I went with Arians abandoning the running game when it was working so well for us is the height of stupidity. Gotta run the ball and control the clock vs Brees. The pass, pass, pass, punt combo three and outs played right into the hands of the Saints.

To me Levi was not even our worst tackle in Sunday. We just love to hate him because of his reputation among the fans and the league.

I swear the guy gets beat every damn play. I watched him a lot and the guy doesn't even try. I didn't pay a ton of attention to Winston but Winston was playing the better D end, this game. But I agree, they're both trash

Maybe he's just still in shock that he went top-5 and can't move properly...

Would be the best excuse yet for his poor play.

That or zombies.

Maybe he was abducted by aliens after the draft and never recovered

Bowles - Too many points being given up averaging 26.3 per game. Way too much for the offense to overcome.

People were calling for Horton's head after 5-6 games and he had more talent to work with. Plus it's hard to judge a defense without it's best player who can tackle sideline to sideline, cover TE's and rush the QB...

But the thing is, Daryl isn't that great in coverage. 27/39 in coverage last season. He is also not going to do all of those things at the same time and finally there is also the fact that we have no idea how Washington is going to fit into the one gap 3-4 that the Cardinals are going to run now which is going to see him taking on blockers head on a lot more, which does not play to his strengths.

People calling for Horton's head after 5-6 games, I don't recall this, but there was his month of October where the team gave up 30 points in every game. However there was the small issue of the lockout that really hurt Ray coming in that year. Todd has had the entire offseason to install his defense, going through OTA's and rookie activities, a full TC and preseason slate. Ray was not that lucky.

I had my doubts about Todd, and it is coming true right now, but I guess we should be willing to continue to let him show us what he can do. I just don't like two of the things Ray excelled at. Gameplanning and play calling.
