Our defense was far from perfect. But they played the bend don't break style of defense we saw with GW. From that, there were two key factors:

Falcons were 3-11 on third down and they failed to score more than 21 points.

If our D can hold teams to 21 and under, and consistently get off the field on third down, it gives the offense more possessions and sometimes that is needed. Today the offense took a little time to get warmed up. A solid defense like we saw today is just what the offense needed to get into the game. It's just one game, but lets hope this carries on throughout the season...

WHO DAT!!!

BTW...Vaccaro is the next big thing, gents.

Vaccaro is so going to be good. Nice replacement for Harper when the time comes for him to leave.

Now if only we could find a replacement for the horribleness that is Malcolm Jenkins...

The dude should have had 2 picks today but his instincts are so terrible it's not even funny.

Loved the way the D played. It wasn't dominant by any means, but with our offense it doesn't need to be. Holding teams to field goals and forcing punts every now and then is all we need. The offense needs to improve. Drew seemed out of sync for most of the game, and the running game needs to get going. Ready for next week! Bucs usually give us a tough time

Even Vaccaro's little hits are big. Like he's just going to wrap them up and it's like THUMP. Laughing Laughing

And i would LOOOOOVE a repeat of that 41-0 scoreline from last year. Just absolutely demolish them.

Another fact I have just learned (from Jeff Duncan just now), only 4 defensive players played every snap of the game.

Kenny Vaccaro was one of those players.
