The Saints lost speedster Joe Morgan to a season ending injury a few weeks ago so they need a deep thread, the question is does Meachem have anything left in the tank after a horrible 2012 season with the Chargers which resulted in him been one of the biggest free-agent busts in recent history.

Interesting signing. He has chemistry with Brees and an understanding of the system, but is he really better than Parker? Starting to wonder who the Saints will have on ST.

Gonna be honest, with Colston, Moore, Stills, Toon, and Tanner, I don't understand this move very well. I would have rather the youth with Preston Parker considering he would bring depth and ST play.

All I have heard about Meachem lately is that his body is breaking down.

Don't get it. Hate it, actually.

Who will be released for him?

Not sure how I feel about this one...

As I said in NFL News I don't like this signing.. at all...

We can look at it like this, though. The last people the Chargers let go and come here went on to be a Super Bowl winning QB and a RB who broke the all-purpose yardage record. Laughing

Not liking this one bit. Toon and Stills have shown more than enough in the pre-season, hoping he isn't stealing reps from them come the season.

All I've heard since he went to San Diego is that he's even lost his deep speed. Given that was the only facet of recieving he truly excelled at and his hand are questionable now why bother?

Got to be more than just a deep threat, otherwise you'd get Devery Henderson back.

One of Meachems biggest strengths is run blocking. Probably the reason he was brought back, Stills and Toon both have a long ways to go in that facet of their game so Meachem will help on screens, tosses, stretches etc. I don't love it, but I see why they did it.

This and maybe have Meach teach the younger WRs how to excel at blocking lol?
