If we can get a first round pick for Byrd, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I don't think he'll command more than a second though. Which is where his approximate value comes into play.

Byrd is going to travel with the team to Washington. He is unlikely to play though.

If Byrd was smart he'd sit out most of the year or until he is 100% healthy. If he misses most of the year, he probably won't get tagged and will be able to get signed to a team that actually wants him.

We do want him, at top 5 money, he wants #1 money. Problem is if he does sit out any time, he kind of loses the bargaining stance (With us and any other team trying to sign him) of him being the #1 S in the league.
