Many shocking cuts, but one of the most surprising ones is Higgins for me. We kept Josh Hill, a UDFA, who hasn't had ONE! catch in all of preseason!

Good. Michael Higgins offers nothing. I'd rather have an unknown guy than I guy who we know can't contribute anything.

I would've rather kept Parker than Cadet, and this is coming from a guy who picked Cadet in for his adopted Saint.

3 OLBs is a joke. Rolling Eyes Unless we plan on giving Hawthorne, Herring, and Reddick time at OLB.

Johnson will probably make the PS but it still makes no sense. We have absolutely zero depth at OLB now. They should've cut Herring and kept Johnson on the active roster.

I don't get how Jay Richardson goes from starting in 3 (or was it 4) of our games to being cut.

Man, some of these moves have really left me scratching my head.

Just the odd man out. Foster, Jenkins, Walker, Hicks, Jordan and Bunkley. In a 3-4, 7 DL is just unnecessary.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't stashed on the PS.

The offense is more surprising to me than the defense. I thought we would have kept Richardson and cut Harrelson, but other than that its the same for me on defense. Two reason I thought we would only carry 3 OLBs. Kevin Reddick is a good blitzer, athletic a guy I see Rob Ryan playing him at Sam. This sounds a lot like what happened to Tez. Also the last two games we ran a lot of 4-3 and started both games in a 4-3. Based on what I've seen we're not going to play just 3-4. We'll look like we did with Greg Williams. So in the 4-3 packages we'll have 3 "ILB" (typical 4-3 LBs) and 1 "OLB" (WDE).

One has to think Foster is in the plans to generate pass rush since only 3 OLB were kept.

Interesting changes. I woulda thought that we keep Parker since we let Roby go. The OLB manning pool vexes me though.

Glad we kept Tanner. I really think that Toon and Stills we replace Colston/Moore in the next 2-4 years.

Oh and Johnson needs to be picked up on the PS. I also liked what I saw of Griffin (although very raw, he has potential). Put him on PS and learn fron Brees.

I think keeping Andy Tanner was quite stupid. He's our #5 WR and isn't great on special teams, we should've kept Parker. I guess Cadet is going to be our KR/PR?

Agreed. I don't understand cutting Parker and keepng 5 backs.

That part makes sense to me. There's no way we were cutting Robinson after how impressive he looked in the preseason, and Cadet is too versatile to cut.

Keeping Tanner over Parker made no sense to me at all, other than the fact that he's a fan favorite.
