Falcons are releasing @BrianBanksFREE. Hey brother, the dream isn't over, it was ACCOMPLISHED. However, Mr. Blank and his partners were so impressed by Brian they are actually trying to place him in a career opportunity in Atlanta around the team

Not really a shock. It's tough enough to make the roster as a UDFA, but when two other UDFAs at your position shine, you almost have no shot.

Wish him luck in the future. I wonder what's the next step for him?

probably an NFL practice squad at best, but I could see him sticking in ATL with a team job like Quality control.

Community outreach, maybe. Or potentially some title like "Defensive Assistant". I do hope he finds some practice squad to stick on, though.

I wonder if he should have taken the Brandon Weeden route and go back to college and get drafted. Even if he sucked, someone would have taken a chance on him, like we did.

I don't really think this needed it's own thread. But I hope he finds success doing whatever he does after this. It'd be cool if he can stay around the team.

Not surprising, but I did like this little nugget:

Would be a quality move by the FO, proved to be a high character guy who went through a lot but still standing up. He most probably won't make any other roster, might as well stick him on those jobs scar listed (if he's willing to, of course).

Can you guys imagine having to be Coach Smith, Dimitroff, and Mr. Blank sitting down with Banks and having to tell him he's being cut. Tough job for sure. I sure wouldn't want to have to tell him.

That must've been rough. I would've felt terrible, but there are no emotions in business.

It would be cool to see him stick around with team affiliated job.
