What do you see as the 3 biggest weaknesses or needs for this years team?

RG for sure.
Possibly RT. depends on how Breno plays this year.
TE is a popular choice but McCoy will be back next season and I think he solidifies the number 2 TE. So I'll go with DT

I think the DT depth concern is a little overblown.

DT- Bennett, McDaniel, Mebane, Howard, Bryant (played DT in pre-season, but is DE as well). Hill's on IR.

DE/LEO - Clemons, Avril, Bryant, Mayowa, Schofield, Irvin (4 game suspension).

Depth at DT is about the same as DE to me.

I think our biggest issues are at both guard positions, we'll see how things work out as Sweezy continues to develop and when Carpenter gets back to take the LG spot. TE depth is a bit of a concern, because after Zach Miller, there's really not much aside from rookie Luke Wilson after Anthony McCoy got injured for the year. SLB is something to watch also because Irvin is taking over when he's back and that'll be a new role for him. Most important thing that needs to be fixed is the amount of penalties.

Depth at DT, sure.

Quality depth at DT, not so much.

McDaniel, Hill, and Howard are all impressive against other 3rd stringers. As of right now though, they are question marks.

We know what we get at TE when McCoy comes back barring his injury changes what he is capable of. We don't know yet what we'll get from the young DTs. That why I think DT is a bigger concern.

McDaniel looked well against the Broncos 1's, but again we just don't know yet because it's pre-season. Same with Howard, has definitely impressed, but it's pre-season.

Still don't think it's as big as an issue as some make it.

OL- every year forever until we can clone Walter Jones 5 times and have him play everywhere.

DT-for real. With Jesse "Stud" Williams can live up to potential

OL- again because 5 Walter Jones might not be enough

Position wise, this is it. I would add to that 1) Penalties. A by product of our below average O-line. Sweezy and Giacomini especially. Those 2 goons take the lions share of the penalties. They need to stop compounding their poor blocking by taking mindless penalties on top of it.

2.) Pass rush. The D line hasn't shown the ability to consistently get to the QB yet. I know we've got some guys that have been hurt and haven't played yet in the preseason, but this unit still needs to improve in that area.

Those are the 2 big question mark areas in terms of on-field product that I have right now.
