Ahh so this is exactly why Free Agency is not always a great thing. All pro Money to Nicks? He's going to be facing this issue the rest of his career. Don't be surprised if he's cut next year.

I think you might be a little ahead of yourself with this post. I get thinking it may effect him but cutting him when we haven't seem him play yet? When he was already arguably the top guard in the game? That seems like an extreme thought.

Pay a G top money, he plays 7 games. Has an injury that will affect him the rest of his career? Already missing a month. An infected blister keeping him out indefinately, aka a month, seems like more of a set back. Normally, blisters are monitored, especiially since its his bad toe. If infected, a good dose of antibiotics and check ups and should be good to go.

I think it's something not being revealed.

With that being said he is still the teams best option at that guard position. Could there be something that the team is hiding... Possibly, but I think that we would have seen more precautionary measures (i.e. signing some free agent guards) if this was something that was being hidden.

The blister isn't on his big toe, it formed because he was compensating for the pain in his big toe by placing pressure on another part of his foot.

“Carl [Carl Nicks], we had a setback with Carl,” Bucs head coach Greg Schiano said. “He did a great job up there against New England. He practiced, almost I guess the entire practice against New England, developed a blister, which not on his toe area, but on a different part of his foot, and hence that blister got infected. Now, we’re treating it like we do everything, and take it very seriously. It’s not something you mess around with, but it’s not your common injury, either.”

What if the injury happend to our "own" guy and we signed him to a new monster deal? What if we used a first round pick and the same injury happend to the guy in his first training camp? No clue why you are bringing up FA?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask how Mike James is doing. He was a leader at The U and the kind of guy you can easily like. Hopefully he can turn into a nice backup for Martin or possibly more.

He's looked pretty good running the ball, needs to work on pass protection. Should see alot of him this week
