AJC is reporting that the south side plan isn't going to happen, and the New Falcons Stadium is likely going to be built on the North site.

Could someone from the Atlanta area explain the pros and cons of sites? I've only been to the city once.

the north site is better for parking and actually putting a stadium up.

I guess the reason the stadium site is moving has something to do with the near by churches.
the state likes the south site better. but the Falcons like the north site better. the state would also have to purchase multiple lots on the south site. where the north site is 100% under state cojntrol.

Which side is nicer?

Any site not located in downtown! Seriously any other spot. The old GM plant in Doraville, Hampton where ATLANTA Motor Speedway is, Marietta, and hell anywhere between Flowery Branch and the ATL for that matter. That would have been ideal.

I would have loved to see it in Sandy Springs. Add a station to the end of the north line of MARTA and do it that way.

That would be great, especially for tailgaters.

You could even just have the station across the street from the dome too.

Somewhere right next to the contaminated hooch huh.

Any area you put the dome will transform that area dramatically.
I doubt Dunwoody, Sandy Springs or even Roswell would have it.

Even Doraville said No Thanks.

I live in Brookhaven 3 miles from Doraville and it would be awesome to be that close, but yet at the same time would hate to see the area change that much possibly for the worse.

I hate going downtown, it's a pain in the [inappropriate/removed].
The new ferris wheel is an eye sore and is an ignorant attempt to make money.

Would love for it to be 20 miles out from downtown but at the same time it would suck for people on the opposite side of town.

Answer: There is no perfect place.
Just get rid of the church's chickens and put it there.
Why do they put 2 same restaurants so close to each other anyways.

I still say we got a perfectly good dome, wait 10 more years, keep prices low and in a decade or 2 build a stadium that hovers/levitates/floats.

The issue is the team doesn't make any money whatsoever from their current deal. the State makes all the money from the GA dome.
