We had one of the worst offense and turnover ratio last year and we finished 4-12 Laughing

Against bad football teams.

You do realize two of the four wins were against the eventual SB Champion Ravens and defending SB Champ Giants right?

On any given Sunday ring a bell?
Do you think because we beat the world champs we are a Super Bowl caliber team?
After the loss to the Cards, long after, I heard people here yapping about how we are so much better then they are and yet they spanked us.
We won 4 games by a total of 6 points but I know, a win is win. And so what our other 2 wins were against awfull teams. This is where you say, you play the games on the schedual.
People just can't stand admitting that this was an awful football team and awfull football teams don't get better over night.
The casual fan loves to point out, some team is always a surprise and goes from worse to first. What the casual fan doesn't realize is bad teams get better over time and true fans are rarely surprised when a team like the 49ers take a major step forward after so many bad seasons.

Don't get me wrong, I love this team. I also understand how hard it is to win in the NFL and its even harder under the current set of circumstances the Eagles have to deal with. I hope they win 16 games. I expect them to win 3. Any more then that and people are setting themselves up for disappointment.
3 wins, add talent, insert new schemes and build unit cohession toward the future. That would be an extremely successful season IMO.

Playing Devil's Advocate cause I agree with you, but..

What about the Colt's last year? The year before they were absolutely AWFUL. Worst team in the NFL without a doubt. They basically got one new player and won 11 games. Their defense was still terrible and their QB got hit more then anyone in the league, but they won 11 games and went to the playoffs.

Whose to say that if we can't get good QB play from someone that the Eagles can't do the same exact thing?

There's really no rules when it comes to teams turning things around. All bets are off. Some teams have extremely fast turnarounds, other teams never improve. For others it takes a little bit of time.

Pretty sure most people didn't see the 49ers turnaround coming.. At one point we all did, but when it actually happened it was a year late. They slowly were improving throughout the years and then boom in 2010 they started the season what, 0-6!? Unless you predicted Harbaugh was going to turn Alex Smith into a serviceable QB after 5 bad years, and that Aldon was going to be a top pass rusher, then I doubt you saw their turnaround coming. Maybe you predicted a crappy season that was good enough to win the NFCW, but it's unliekly you, or any "true fans", saw a 13-3 season coming.

Pretty much, they questioned the Smith pick as well.

Tom Donahoe has experience finding players for a 3-4 scheme.

Now the Eaglesí senior football advisor, Donahoe was the Pittsburgh Steelersí director of football operations from 1991 to 1999. In the summer of 1992, defensive backs coach - LeBeau and defensive coordinator Dom Capers were installing their zone blitz scheme under new head coach Bill Cowher.

Cool that we have some solid talent evaluators in the front office.

If Howie is a contract negotiating and salary cap expert, it's good to have guys like Time Donahoe and Tom Gamble.

I think as fans, we often forget about the moves to hire these guys after the initial reaction.
