In my experience, the defense is usually way ahead and kicking the offense's arse. So the apparent fact that the O is coming out strong should be encouraging... I'd think.

I don't think you can get too concerned or excited with what goes on early in training camp.

The offense destroying the D is good. The more the D gets destroyed, the better.

Our defense would have benefited greatly last season from an offense that didn't get a 3 and out 2/3rds of the time and offense that didn't turn the ball over a ridiculous amount

i know i was kind of being sarcastic

just noting is nice how good first team offense was doing despite not having bowe and that it is encouraging

imo positive reports mean so much more this year due to the coaching staff honestly last year our coach may have been one of the worst in nfl history not even joking

this year we are getting proper coaching from a proven staff i keep hearing these 1 on 1 sessions happening with coaches and i love that

Bowe sidelined with a virus, not an injury. (per ESPN)

If true, we'll have a continuation of the Cassel years. Terrific.

I just don't see the Alex Smith/Cassel comparisons at all.

But Charles getting more involved in the passing game is something I'm excited about. Didn't Priest have years where he neared 600-700 yards receiving? I wouldn't mind seeing Charles put up numbers like that with 1400+ yards rushing.

Alex Smith is probably loving this offense right now. A solid O-Line to protect him, a consistent target in Bowe with a few other decent WRs kind of like the other WRs he had in SF. A bail out option in Charles who can give you anywhere from 5-50+ yards just from dumping the ball off to him as an emergency option. Three solid TE's. Plus Reid who is going to trust Alex more than Harbaugh did.

Man honestly I just want this season to start so we can finally shed our losing image from the past 5-6 years. The Herm era through Pioli era

Not true. Andy Reid's screen game is the best I have ever seen. Be ready for 10 screen passes a game if not more. Reid's screen game in no way shape or form is a variation of a check down. They're designed.

QBs signing merch, Smith is dominating, Chase is cluttered, Bray has a few, you could nearly walk up to Stanzi. #Chiefs

I think we are seeing why Reid proclaimed Smith as the starter months ago, he has very little competition. #Chiefs

Well.... RT"@KCKID116: @Lance_THESPOKEN so in other words if Smith gets hurt we're screwed"

This is all I have seen thus far on it.. from a Marc Sessler

Quote:
Jeff Allen was taken off the field during practice with a right shoulder injury, according to Adam Teicher of The KC Star. Based on what he saw, Teicher believes Allen is set to "miss some time." We'll wait for the team to weigh in, but Allen was a 13-game starter as a rookie last season after the Chiefs made him the 44th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He didn't grade out well by PFF -- ranking 79th out of 81 qualifying guards -- but the Chiefs on the whole were a disaster last autumn. Allen proved himself a versatile lineman this spring, working at guard and tackle in the absence of Branden Albert. Allen entered camp in a battle with Geoff Schwartz for the starting LG spot, and his absence, for now, weakens a line that otherwise should be improved in 2013.
