Yeah yeah, I know what some of you are already thinking, but the reality is, Eric Wright is a more capable starting CB than anybody currently on our roster...

Any chance his failed physical is a fluke and his legal problems get handled in a way that he he doesn't miss any time or get suspended? If so does anybody see a chance we make a play for him?

In his current position, i'm sure he's going to be happy with a vet minimum contract.. We could use a starting CB right about now.

In my opinion, no thanks.
Norman should step up. And another average starter with our awesome front 7 should suffice.

Eric Wright IS an average starter... Nobody on our roster is, including Norman.

We honestly need some veteran leadership back there, this wouldn't be a terrible option

no. he was a starter on the league's worst pass defense last season, just failed a physical, and has legal troubles.

i'd rather stick with our motley crew of guys that allowed less than 200 pass yards in four of the last six games of the year.

There's a reason TB is trying to move him and a reason that SF didn't want him on the team. I'll pass.

If he's cheap, and has a risk free contract, I don't see why not. Worst case we cut him before the season if it doesn't pan out.

Unless someone falls into our lap, I think we should make a play for this guy based on the following:
He is a capable starter from day 1, we really dont have one
He will come cheap
He will have something to prove
He knows Tampa's playbook and could give us some info
He is a low risk, possible high reward guy
He is 27 and adds a veteran(not over the hill) stopgap until we can acquire a legitimate CB
Is he the best CB in the league? NO, with our front 7 being as talented as it is, he is very capable and we are only a few pieces away from being a LEGIT Super Bowl contender! If we draft well, like we did this last 2 or 3 years, we WILL be in the Super Bowl within the next 2 years!
I say go for it.

Nick Foles(119yds), Quinn(201), Rivers(121), Leinart/Palmer(115/31)...You are praising our secondary for holding these guys to under 200 yards?! Wow, given Rivers can be an elite qb at times and just had a terrible year last year, if we couldn't hold these qbs to under 200yds then God help us...

doesn't matter. you play who you play. defense was damn good down the stretch. and i didn't see those guys being held below 200 every other game of the season. only two we let up on were brees and ryan... and we won those games anyway!
