Staff tossed 20 Passing TDs which is pretty low considering the amount of times he throws it.

Obviously calvin was tackled at the 1 6 times and had the bad call week 1, but still.

How do or do you guys see the number getting closer to 30?

I expect over 30.

Not only did we have those near TD's with Calvin, but we had guys drop a good amount IN the end zone, on drives that didnt end up with Stafford throwing for a TD, which could also be viewed as TD's he should of had.

Ima guess 34.

I dont think he can say well any of the rushing TDs SHOULD have been passing TDs

I'd say low 30's. That's pretty realistic for him - only has to average about 2 TD's per game, which he's more than capable of.

2012 was pretty much his worst possible total if he's healthy. 2011 was a best case scenario... and he was what... 23/24? I expect mid 30's if he stays healthy. He's a dynamic QB that's currently hovering around top 10 in the league at 25. He's extremely intelligent and driven. If he's given the right tools to succeed, there is no doubt in my mind that he'll be one of the best in the game within 2 or 3 years.

Also didn't have any RB that was much of a threat in the passing game last season. Reggie Bush probably will break a couple screens for TD's.

Considering the stat of receivers being tackled something like 20ish times inside the 5 I would add 10.

it was 23 within the 5, and I think around 10 at the 1 (with 5 of those belonging to calvin)

Yea i just read that few ago from other thread.

So I would say about half of that.

Also Reggie has a knack for turning a would be rush TD into a swing pass TD

His TD total dropped by 21 last year and the offense as a whole dipped from 50 TDs to 39 TDs. That said, our rushing touchdowns nearly doubled between 2011 and 2012 (9 to 17), and those are still drives that Stafford led. Frankly, I don't really care much if Stafford doesn't get back up into 35+ TD range as long as can keep scoring on the ground.

That all being said, I would hope we'll see him up in the high 20's at least. We're probably not going to be a team that scores 20+ rushing TDs, and we do have the best WR in the game and one of its best receiving RBs, so it seems reasonable that he ought to be throwing much more than just 20 scores.

I think what's more important than his TDs, though, is getting his completion percentage and YPA back to 2011-ish levels. I want to see him completing better than 62% of his throws and I want his YPA to be above 7 or 7.5. And hopefully he's not out throwing 45 passes a game again.
