Oh that drive... It was more a stall than a real attempt at a drive. The number one priority there was to not fumble the ball. Rice had fumble issues in the playoffs, including earlier that game. I think fumbles are largely mental which is why they often come in bunches. It made sense to go with the guy who hadn't dropped the ball all year.

I think the fumbles in the post-season were definitely mental. It seemed that Ray Rice was a bit too caught up in 'winning it for Ray' and let his emotions get the better of him.

I thought he was trying too hard, and then after the first fumble, was trying too hard to make up for it. Just small mental errors that occur in those situations, and when they mount up they can muddle your thinking.

That's all it was. He's not a 'fumbler' in my estimation, and I rarely watch Ray Rice get mobbed by defenders and worry that he's going to cough up the ball.

But I do think we'll see Bernard Pierce get a lot of rushing yards next year, and I think he'll be more than just a change of pace back.
