Good roster move. Signing Koppen was the obvious move because he has experience with the team and performed well last year.

The move was so obvious that I'm surprised that another AFC West team didn't try to sign him first.

It will be interesting if the Broncos draft a new center in the 2014 draft. The one with Colorado State might be a 3rd or 4th rounder.

If we do draft one it will be at least a 2nd rounder. Why draft another 3rd-4th round caliber center when you can just re-sign Walton for cheap after missing basically 2 full seasons to injury. You'd have to start all over with a rookie who probably won't be much better in the long run than Walton.

I wonder if this is a first for the Broncos -- will a player wear a different number?

In 2012, Koppen wore the #67 uniform. Then his contract wasn't renewed.

In 2013, the #67 was given to Manase Foketi, an undrafted rookie who is unlikely to make the final roster.

Now Koppen is back on the team. Will Koppen pay Foketi to get #67? Will Koppen just take the next open number? Will he switch to a new jersey for the regular season?
