Well John Simon was cut today to make room for the other additions...Kori D was cut as well, which saves me from having to deal with the ridiculousness of typing his name onto message that filter it out...
That eliminates a couple guys from the TE/H-Back/RB mix. This is the way I envision it breaking down.
Halfback- Portis, Betts, Broughton
H-Back - Cooley, White, Sellers
TE - Royal, Kashetta
I figure we will probably bring another veteran blocking TE for the goal-line who can do the job until Kashetta is ready to step up.
Also, I figure we will keep around one other halfback, probably to play special teams. My gut says Rock Cartwright, since he's supposedly a special teams dynamo of sorts. Plus I love Rock so that would be nice for me. I'm also thinking Dahrran Diedrick maybe as a practice squad guy. But I think 4 HBs, 3 H-backs, and 3 TEs is reasonable, especially if one of the RBs is a great ST player. |

I know he's older, but Jay Riemersma may be available. He's a good blocking TE. |

The Redskins completed the signings of three veterans and an undrafted rookie quarterback on Thursday. The new acquisitions: tight end Billy Baber, wide receiver Jimmy Farris, running back Brock Forsey and quarterback Bryson Spinner.
To make room for the four new players, the Redskins released tight end Kori Dickerson and running back John Simon. On Wednesday, the team released quarterback Tim Hasselbeck and wide receiver Jason Samples.
So one TE and one RB is already gone. And the rest are there to compete for Speical team potions as well. Special teams were little slack last year for us.
We also have Antonio Brown as a KR if he is not cut. |
