So designing a square or an oval would have been better?

Im assuming by your screenname and location you are a Chargers fan, and in that case...at least their team actually makes the playoffs.

No kidding...especially coming from a fan whose team can't secure a new stadium.

I don't know why people feel the need to take cheap shots at the franchise just because they don't like the design. The Falcons were better than 28 other teams last year.

The new stadium can't please everybody apparently.

It would make more sense. I understand teams now want to "stand out", but these designs are getting ridiculous, especially when you take a design (birds nest) from someone else (Olympics in China) and don't make it as nice.

There is a reason square and oval arenas are built constantly, they work. And they aren't eye sores. Wink

Love it. It's different. They did a damn nice job of capturing the nest idea.

Well done.

The second part of this was my thought and then it seemed like a flower. It does not matter to me either and it's about whether it gives the football team any kind of greater advantage.

That's a pretty great design. From above, it looks spectacular, a little reminiscent of the star forts that were once dotted around North America, or a stylised rose. And from the sides it looks striking, to say the least. Not beautiful, but impressive, which is more than can be said for many of the stadiums in the NFL.

Also, nary a sign of any expanses of dull, grey concrete, a building material that nearly always ends up looking ugly and dated after about three years.

Love the design. Laugh at the traditionalists.

Circles and ovals work, by gum! No need for change!
