I'm sort of stealing this idea from another forum, but they basically held votes on each position, determining which players in our division would start to make the best 53 man roster.

Mods, I hope this is ok. I know the forum is really dead this time of year and figured we could have some fun with this.

I'd basically like to Hold a vote for each position and let us debate each other.

I'd like to start this with the obvious QB position.

Due to how the division shakes out, I will use a 3-4 for the defense.

Note: This will be for the team going forward, and not just this year.

It's who do you want on your team going forward.

I honestly struggled with this one because of Ben's injury and age.

I do however think that he would stay far more upright and healthy with a great oline that he would have with this team.

Therefore, I'm taking Ben, with Flacco 2nd, Dalton 3rd and Weeds 4th.

Flacco is closing the gap, but Ben still does more with less, imo. It's closer than years past, but he's still tops in the division, I think.

Weeden is entrenched in 4th until he proves otherwise. The gap between him and Dalton is not as huge as some believe, but there's still a gap.

Agree with all of this.

Flacco for me. He is healthier and showed when in the big moment he will shine.

Has to be Ben. Flacco has only been good for 2 of his 5 seasons, Ben has been good 7 of 9 seasons (good starts at a 90 rating for me).

Ben.

LOVED him coming out of college. I really wanted the Browns to draft him, but instead they picked my most hated Brown ever... Mad

Big Ben. For as much as I dislike him, I have to give him credit. He makes his share of mistakes but also makes plays that leave you speechless. If he's behind an all AFCN o-line he would do wonders.

Big Ben. Although he's injury prone, he's proven to be better than Flacco and he also has arguably less talent to work with on offense.

Flacco is second. He's an interesting player because it seems like he's vastly overrated by some and vastly underrated by others. He was definitely overpaid this offseason, but I'm not sure how much blame you can place on the Ravens for the deal they gave him. Maybe he wouldn't have taken less money and he did prove he was capable of winning a Super Bowl, even though most years I don't think that Ravens team would be good enough to get to the Super Bowl. It just happened to be a year where there really weren't any great teams in the AFC. And the last time the Ravens won a Super Bowl, they let their starting quarterback go and they then struggled. That was with Trent Dilfer, who wasn't as good as Flacco and their defense was far better than it was last season. If they had let Flacco go, it's very possible that they wouldn't be legitimate contenders for quite awhile.

Dalton is good, but I don't think he's good enough to take the Bengals deep in the playoffs. The only way he possibly could is if the Bengals had an elite defense and running game.

Weeden is obviously last for now. I think it's possible that he becomes better than Dalton, but it's far from a sure thing.

This is as clear cut as any of the positions will be. I don't really even need to justify my rankings with explanations, that's how easy this one is.

Ben
Flacco
Dalton
Weeden

I do think Weeden actually outplays Dalton this year and he and Flacco will be one a similar level too. Shocked (I don't think Weeden will play Top 10, I just think Flacco is overrated and plays more middle of the packish this year).
