Close, but the World Cup is in the cross hairs. Atlanta is a huge hot bed for soccer in the nation even though there isnt a MLS team(Blank is trying to buy one). The city has hosted a good number of big time matches that were all sell outs. Its no secret that the city is a huge transplant city, with a lot of residents that are big time soccer fans. This stadium, along with hosting the Olympics, could help the city to bring the Wold Cup back to the states. _________________

If you break it down the building is supposed to be about 1.050 billion dollars. Blank put up 850 million of that and set aside another 15 million for extra structure expenses. So he if need be put in around 865 million from his pocket. The city of Atlanta has a Hotel tax that said they would put in another 200 million but the only money from that tax spent toward the dome will be from out of state tourists who stay at those hotels so it's not coming form any of the Tax payers pockets at all and will be completly funded by out of state visitors.
The nfl agreed to put in another 200 million sort of like a loan to Blank so he is really only putting in 600 million right now. He actually gets to keep 50 of that 200 from the nfl and the other 150 is paid back over 15 years. _________________

One of the parking lots across from the Georgia Dome and World Congress Center. The WCC will own the stadium, even though Blank put so much money into it. The city fought hard to keep it in downtown since they are doing so many revitalizing projects around the Dome. _________________

Wow, that's pretty jaw dropping. The fact that they were able to actually bring the concept of a "bird nest" stadium to life is truly amazing. |

I'm honestly pretty surprised by all of the positive reactions. I expected people to hate it because it was so different. I think it's going to look epic. _________________

I love it. Kinda looks like a very modernized version of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Bird Nest stadium. Actually, I looks like a mix between that and the Sydney Opera House. |

Looks cool, I never understood the point of wasting tons of money to make a stadium look "cool" though. I'd rather have a stadium that has great views from every seat and other conveniences then it looking cool from the sky, not saying that stadium WON'T have that as well just putting my two cents in. _________________ RTR
