Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, placed on waivers by the Buffalo Bills on Monday, is heading to Seattle in the next day or two to possibly sign a contract with the team, two sources said.

Like I said in the other thread, I'd love to have him back here as a back up.

GREAT guy, loved in the room. There is ZERO doubt about who the #1 is and is ZERO threat to Wilson but adds more than just picking up a guy like Quinn does.

Class act when he was here in a very tough situation, nothing but respect for the guy and I'll always have time for him.

Wouldn't mind him coming in as a backup at all.

I like Tats point about wanting to move away from the previous era and stick with the kinda guys we're bringing in now...

...but with that said, I think Jackson is the perfect option for us at backup QB. We're in a spot now where there is absolutely no question who the starter is. Jackson won't be coming in with questions if he'll be the starter, he'll now know he's preparing as a backup and he's battling out Johnson and Quinn, not Wilson.

Jackson is a player that the guys in the locker room loved and I can't see a reason that's a bad thing now. Even they realize who their guy is and no one is stupid enough to believe Jackson should actually start.

He's a guy that knows the system and knows the philosophy and has shown he can be a good pinch backup when called upon.

Yeah, he really is a great backup. It just seems like a past I'd choose not to revisit as a FO

Loser of the Jackson-Quinn battle will probably get cut.

But don't forget, the time Jackson was here wasn't the worst. I mean, we did go 7-9 and had started to see the emergence of Thomas, Sherman, Browner, Chancellor, Clemons, etc.

Anything prior to that (aka the Aaron curry era) should most definitely not be revisited.

I agree T-Jack would be a solid backup for sure. I'd definitely rather have T-Jack as the #2 qb behind Russ than Quinn.

If Jax returned it would be no big deal with feelings. He failed with the bills and a full season away so he should have no hate for the Hawks. If he did Pete would send him packing and the team mates that liked him before won't try to change anything. I just don't see the drama going to take place like a reality program. Also if the Hawks take him he would be crazy to say no or cause trouble because it would put his career in jeopardy.

I'm ok with this move. While I hated jackson running the show, i am completely comfortable with him as a relief starter.

Now that he is officially signed, I fully expect him to beat out Brady Quinn for the backup position
