Sounds like the new WRs are starting to click - good signs from both Hawkins and Amendola. And I wouldn't read much into Spikes not getting team drills on his first day - could be all sorts of little reasons for that.

Quote:
Julian Edelman has shed his walking boot and has been catching passes on the Gillette game field for the last 15 minutes.

Wooohoooo Dancing

June 12:

Quote:
Belichick says he installs a "significant" portion of the system during this run of offseason workouts, about more than half.

Quote:
Belichick on Adrian Wilson: "I think he's very well respected."

Quote:
Tebow question: Belichick says "everybody is ... in the same boat." Tebow's might be an ark.

Quote:
"I don't think evaluating players after a couple plays is a real good practice." BB on Tebow's first day.

Sudfeld is so making the team.

If he gets cut so we keep three QBs...I'm going to be mad.

I'm thinking they'll go with Gronk/Hernandez/Ballard/Sudfield with Hoomaiweoifsdffefnewie listed as a FB while playing a hybrid role. Wouldn't be surprised if they kept one less from the WR or OL position to make the extra room if necessary.

More updates:

Quote:
today's practice over...Aaron Hernandez not spotted; had been working with rehab group & catching some passes last couple of weeks

Quote:
General thought on WR group: It is Danny Amendola and then a noticeable drop-off.

Quote:
Pats practice wraps up with Tebow working at QB in opportunity time.

Quote:
Rookie free-agent WR Kenbrell Thompkins continues to get reps alongside Amendola and Jenkins in top group.

Quote:
Hernandez, Gronk and Edelman among those not on field for practice.

Quote:
TE Daniel Fells seems to show up a bit more than the norm. Somewhat of a forgotten man but could still help.

Quote:
Similar to Tuesday, Tim Tebow works exclusively at QB. Leads "opportunity" team at end of practice.

Quote:
The "opportunity" portion of practice is for rookies and lesser-experienced players.

Quote:
Offense looked crisp today. Brady again displayed nice chemistry with Amendola.

Quote:
CBs Kyle Arrington, Aqib Talib & Ras-I Dowling with pass breakups. Defense has looked to be ahead of offense. Practice ends with INT.

Quote:
QB stats in 11-on-11s today: Brady (11-19, INT), Mallett (10-14), Tebow (6-9). Tebow's only reps again were in opportunity time.

Quote:
Brady's pick was a deflection on the last play of practice, by the way.

Asked Tom Brady if he's worried about Tim Tebow's presence being a distraction. "I don't worry about much these days."

Big one:

Quote:
Would Brady be OK coming off the field for a Tebow package? "That's a very hypothetical question so maybe we'll deal with it if it happens."

Translated from Belichick-ese: "Hell no! What kind of chump do you think I am?"

Even if he was, I wouldn't be. I would have serious doubts about the coaching staff if such a scenario came to pass.

Best Belichick moment today:

Quote:
Reporter: "Bill, you traditionally play it very close to the vest answering questions in press conferences, especially in situations like this. What advantage does that give your team, or what does it help you avoid?"

Belichick: "I just try to answer you guys' questions as best I can."

After he let that one out there was a good 2 second silence where he was obviously trying to keep a straight face. Laughing

I'm really going to miss his press conferences when he's gone.

Kenbrell Thompkins! Pulling for him to make the team.
