They need to sign all these rookies so they can add a free agent or two if some big names come free in the next 24 hours.

QB (3)

Note: Pretty clear these three guys are sticking. This may be Pryor's last year, though.

RB (6)

Note: Same as above. I'd hope for a 4th RB if not for the versatility we have at FB.

FB (8 )

Note: Reece is a given. Olawale is a guy Dallas tried to keep, and someone Reggie carried on the 53 because (apparently) we like his upside. I'm hoping for a Zack Crockett type player here. Either way, with McFadden's unreliability, depth in the backfield is an absolute must.

WR (15)

Note: I just can't bring myself to cut one of these guys right now. One of them is likely gone, though. Really not sure a 1 year rental with a hobbled Cribbs, even if he is a 4 phase special teams ace, is worth dumping a young WR prospect from a rebuilding team. Then again, I'm sure we can find another Brice Butler in next year's draft.

TE (18 )

Note: I've never gotten the Ausberry love, and I still don't. Dude's never had any game. Gordon can block a little and has ST value. The team is openly prioritizing upgrading ST, and that, paired with our apparent plans to be a power running team, gives Gordon the edge.

OT (21)

Note: I really want to go 4 deep here, but without forcing someone onto the roster, I don't see a viable option. I'm thinking a guy like Wetzel or another team's camp cut would be signed to the practice squad and could be called up to the active roster if the need arose.

OG (24)

Note: Damn it, Reggie. Brisiel is still here. I am not amused. I do like Berg and Nix, though. They should have both been starting last year. Parsons provides a capable 4th body here.

C (26)

Note: Wiz 2.0 is a solid technician and a smart football guy. Pretty much what you want at center. Parsons flashed some ability as a guard last year and should prove a viable 3 position backup. Maybe even a future starter at RG.

DE (31)

Note: Fairly versatile group. Houston, and probably Bass, can double as OLBs. Houston can also take reps inside, especially in nickel. I suspect Crawford could as well. Let's hope so, because our DT depth isn't great.

DT (35)

Note: Sims and Walker are, imo, incredibly underrated signings. They're only on one year deals, but both are starting caliber linemen. Bilukidi is getting some first team reps in OTAs and will be counted on to take a big step forward this year. I waiver on hanging onto McGee, but I think Reggie will want to give his draft pick a chance if he can show anything in training camp. If I need a roster spot, though, I think we can get this guy onto the practice squad without his being claimed off waivers.

MLB (36)

Note: I know that we'll be in nickel half the time, but we really have to come up with some depth at MLB. Maybe Kevin Burnett can kick inside in a pinch. I know they talked about moving Burris inside. While I'm talking about depth, we don't even know for sure that Roach can be a legit starting MLB. He's been a SAM by trade, save for last year filling in for Urlacher. We can only hope for the best, because we don't have another option on the roster. Keep an eye out for Omar Gaither making a comeback.

OLB (41)
Kevin Burnett

Note: Moore and Burnett should prove to be a solid, if not formidable pair of OLBs. Maiva and Clayton are ST standouts, with Maiava having value in regular defenses. Burris will have to continue to work hard to carve out a niche in this new look LB corps.

CB (46)

Note: Not much to get excited about. I think Hayden is going to be very good. I really like Adams, but can he overcome the concussion thing and continue to develop? Porter could rebound and have a solid season. Jenkins is awful. Hanson is still a quality slot defender, but was really exposed when forced to play outside. We'll see our safeties covering WRs more often than we'd like this year.

S (50)

Note: Keep an eye on Ross. The other 3 guys are known quantities. I think Ross is a kid who can blossom into a CB/S swingman. Possibly more. We likely won't get 16 games our of Woodson, but he could really help our young DBs grow into playmakers. Let's hope.

Specialists (53)

Note: Kluwe, King. King, Kluwe. Whoever. Kluwe is the steady veteran you can count on. King has the Lechler-esque leg, but hasn't proven himself consistently reliable yet. Should be an interesting camp battle, which is unusual for the position. Condo was proven to be invaluable last year. Hopefully some of our guys are training to be longsnappers. We can't allow what happened last year to happen again.

Practice Squad
WR Sam McGuffie
WR Travionte Session
TE Brian Leonhardt
OT John Wetzel
RB Deonte Williams
QB Matt McGloin
OLB Kailen Burnett
OG Lamar Mady

Note: You can usually predict the final 53 within a couple players. Predicting the practice squad? Get staggering drunk, put on a blindfold, spin around until you puke, then throw 8 darts at the roster. You'll be just about as accurate as if you had put a great deal of thought an research into guessing the 8 "Almost Raiders."

Flynn, Pryor, Wilson (3)
McFadden, Murray, Jennings, Stewart (4)
Reece (1)

Burnett, Moore, Maveia, Burnett(4)
Branch, Ross(2)

King, Jano, Condo, Cribbs(4)

1FB Jamize Olawale- blocking fullback
2WR Sam Mcguffie - still raw at WR
3FS Shelton Johnson ---
4OT John Wetzel -- could push to make the roster
5SS Chance Thomas- yes two safeties, still think we try to develop some guys on that spot
6DL- I think we will add someone who is cut from a better defensive line
7LB Billy Boyko
8QB Matt McGloin -- seems like a good guy to have in the locker room
