Chargers signed this guy real early when Free Agency began and it was our new G.M. first signing. By those signs it means that this guy is average or above average, but I don't watch much Jaguar games and just want a take on this guy as far as pros and cons in his game when he was suited for the Jags.

Amended from what I wrote when someone asked when he left:

He's an athletic, strong press man corner. Metrically, when healthy over the last two and a half years, he's been one of the best cover corners in the NFL. He's not going to get you many picks, and he's terrible as a tackler (missed a tackle every 5.2 attempts, 4th worst in the NFL last year among corners), but in pure coverage skills, he's probably in the top 10 range.

It seems like every other game, he's coming up with a soft tissue injury though. The last couple months, reports have come out that questioned his dedication to football and suggested that he was milking his injuries while he was here.

Well hopefully he's a bit more motivated being on a new team and a new scenery for him. So let me ask you has he peaked already in skills or can the guy be up there with some the best CB's out there?

I think he's probably peaked, but considering there was a stretch of games that his metrics rated out as a top 5 corner, that's not really a bad thing. As a man coverage corner, he can be elite if he stays healthy. I'm not sure that will ever be the case though, and he will probably always have issues with tackling.

Tackling issues aside, I would take a heathy Derek Cox as my #1 press corner ahead of most #1's in the league.

Hey Deion Sanders had problems with tackling, he turned out to be ok. Laughing Laughing

I dont think motivation is the issue though, the reports very well could have been a bad-blood move, but he can ball when healthy no doubt there

Pretty much said it all.

Good cover corner. Terrible tackler. Never healthy.
