Notes from the Interview--

Tavon Austin: what can he do for Sam and the offense? Can come in and fill the void for losing Amendola along with helping in the return game...another weapon for the offense.

Jake Long: What was your pitch to him? Coach Fisher has street cred with a lot of players. He knows how to get a player ready for Sundays and December and January when it really counts.

Talks about the importance to Sam of being in the same offense for the 2nd year for the first time. He has the accuracy and smarts that will lead to more wins with the added weapons.

Good enough to make the playoffs? We moved the needle last year, but not satisfied. Building on that we're going to make a run at the playoffs...and we're looking long term '14, '15, '16.

What made you agree to go to the Rams? Having a great owner.....having Sam Bradford at QB....and Coach Fisher.

Got many texts when he came to the Rams; at least you're going to an easy division. That's changed obviously.

Can we all put this to rest now? I know it has finally died down around here do to some deep dives on his actual performances with an actual understanding of the limited pieces around him. But around the net in some other pretty respected Rams sites there are still moron spouting off that he isnt any good and that he will be cut after this year, that he has been using excuses his whole career and just kicks his feet up counting his money while laughing to himself.

A handful of games with an overachieving Brandon Lloyd is the best he has had his entire career, and while you can say last year was much more about the defense than it was the offense, he still lead us to 7 wins, and improved the Offense without any huge additions from the year before. And as a rookie he took a bad team to the brink of the playoffs.

This guy is good, and I have every expectation that (assuming healthy) he shows that he is a Top 10 QB in the NFL this yearI just hope they start to rework that contract, wrapping the final 2 seasons into a new deal and start to spread out that Cap Hit.

Snead is a Busy Boy! Another Interview--

Rams GM Les Snead joins Pro Football Live to break down the successful offseason in St. Louis. Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey are now wearing a different shade of blue and gold, but can they fortify the receiving corps QB Sam Bradford needs? Les talks about the draft and trading up for Austin, how they decided they could handle Ogletree, how they compete with the Niners/Seahawks, and Pead's "miserable" last year. Says Pead showed up in "great shape" this year. Long, but interesting interview (24:00)

Les Snead on with Randy K and D’Marco Farr--May 14

**What are your impressions of what you have after the rookie minicamp? To see them in person..We feel like we made the right choice when it comes to the 1st rounders.

**A career is made on what you do after you’re drafted, not where you’re drafted.

**Ogletree? One of the reasons we drafted him is pursuit speed….especially with the division we are in.

**How much of a rush was it in the 1st round? It’s an intense moment. We had a scenario with 4 parts to it and it all worked out.

**Are you always thinking about the future? Can you ever feel satisfied? You can never sit and say ahhhh..we’ve made it. There is always the next week, the next game.

**Undrafted tryout players? How important? There’s always one or two players that are rookie minicamp tryouts that make a roster or a career. We had Brent Grimes in Atlanta and last year it was WR Nick Johnson who made our roster. (3:47)
