And this is why I don't like his comments from earlier...

Ronde kind of forced Dom and Schiano to bolster the secondary. When fa opened up he had not given his answer whether he was shutting it down or not. When the draft rolled around he had not given his answer whether he was shutting it down or not.

Was the team supposed to stand still waiting for his decision?

Ronde was a class-act and a great player. I'll miss him, but all in all I think it was the right decision. I'm happy to see him retire on his own terms in Red and Pewter.

Still if Ronde wanted to come back im sure Schiano would have made a role for him and he would have had him "start" every game as the nickle LB/Nickle CB

Not really. From what I remmeber, Ronde and Schiano/DOM met before FA opened and still no decision. So they went on as planning they wouldnt have him. Not their fault. Not Ronde's either.

They can't plan the team around a 38 year old CB though. The secondary needed bolstering whether he stayed or not.

Oh I completely agree and love what we did. Wish he would have came back, like I said, I envisioned a role as the 3rd LB/Nickle guy that would have played ALOT of snaps for us.

I bet if we make playoffs Ronde will regret it...

Example of Ronde Barber's class. When ST coach Rich Bissacia's SB ring was stolen, Barber and wife Claudia paid Tiffany's for a new one.

Love it!

As much as everyone would love to see him stick around and coach, I'm sure he needs some time to unwind. Spend time with the family, do some tv (hopefully nfl network) and maybe after he's stepped away for a bit then he would think about coming back.
