Quote:
Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Lions have agreed to contractswith four members of their draft class. They signed a pair of sixth-round picks — wide receiver Corey Fuller and running back Theo Riddick (pictured) — and a pair of seventh-round choices — tight end Michael Williams and linebacker Brandon Hepburn — to four-year deals.

Yeah, I'm excited to see what this guy can do. Liked what I saw of his film.

Young was very good.

Broyles looked good.

Young wasn't close to being "very good". He rarely got separation, and really didn't excel at anything. He should've never been drafted to play on the outside, Mayhew thought he could be DeSean Jackson and he was wrong.

Exactly. Young showed flashes of being a good receiver but that was it. There was no reason to draft him in the 2nd rd.

Broyles may have looked good in his couple games he played but the jury is still out. Even though some were late picks, they still havent hit.

I completely disagree.

I thought football wise he was well worth the pick.

And rarely got seperation? That is not true.

As far as what Mayhew thought, I dont know. I never saw him or heard any comparison of him to Jackson. He had no where near his top speed. He was however a much more polished receiver coming out.

Definitely not what I saw. If he consistently got separation, he would've easily been on pace for 1k yards before he was cut and wasn't even close to that pace after 11 games.

Considering they drafted him to play opposite Calvin, I'll always contend that besides his personal troubles, Young was always a bad pick. He didn't have the speed to take the top off a defense as Mayhew envisioned.

Something about him just tells me he's going to be a fan favorite, the kinda guy that everyone likes cheering for. I can't wait to buy his jersey.

As soon as I saw the thread, I guessed it was the final four picks. The only real news I want to see right now is a Stafford extention and Freeney signing.

Theres a big gap between consistent and rarely. And you dont have to justify a 2nd round selection with 1000 yard seasons.

And it still doest matter whatever it was Mayhew envisioned for him.

The guy showed he could play.

He was a very good route runner, with very good hands.

He was very quick. Good speed, not great.

The kid just has a screw loose.
