http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=90978&draftyear=2013&genpos=OLB

he's listed as an OLB/SS

if he's going to play as a 3-4 OLB in the steelers system, he'lll need to add weight. My guess is he'll move inside. since WVU plays a 3-3-5, he's a WLB in a standard 4-3, or a WILB in our 3-4, assuming he's anything more than a camp body

Unless we want him to play strong safety. Could it mean Shamarko will command more playing time or utilitize in nickel packages?

If I remember right, we didn't get enough depth on safety beyond four solid safeties (polamalu, clark, golden, and thomas) and DCS is likely on his way out. PS maybe.

Garvin is interesting to me. I wonder if they will try him at Safety first. He reminds me of Kenny Tate from Maryland. Anyone know who Tate signed with?

Carnell Lake was an OLB at UCLA and made the transition to safety in the pros maybe he sees something in this kid that makes him think he could do the same. Will see what happens.

It's interesting, although I was surprised to see they released Ivory Wade to make room for Garvin. I thought Wade was something that had a decent shot of making the roster or at least the Practice Squad.
