Is there a such thing as dual retirement? Like we can retire 51 forever as the # both Vilma and Mills wore?

Why does Vilma deserve to be in the same sentence as Mills?

And in this ceremony we honor the great Sam Mills. And another, Jonathan Vilma.

There, different sentences. Wink

EDIT: Okay, in all seriousness, I wasn't even alive during the dome patrol so I don't even know much about them so that may skew my view.

What's there to be skewed though? Do you honestly feel Vilma's accomplishments as a Saint are really worthy of number retirement? Vilma is/was good. He's never been elite. To me, number retirement is the equivalent of being the best of the best.

Saved an Austin Collie TD in the Super Bowl. I guess it's all about relevance to the major events in franchise history. I'd rather have Mills, Swilling, etc., but I could understand Vilma.
