I don't think anyone is underestimating his peers at all -- most of us acknowledge that Ozzie is among the best in the game, but that's the key word -- "among". However, Ozzie's track record speaks for itself -- we were the 4th winningest team between 2000-2010 yet we didn't have a "franchise QB" until 2008. We've now been to the playoffs 5 times in a row, 3 AFCCG, and a SB victory in the last 5 years once Ozzie found that QB. It's a testament to how well the roster was built around the QB.

That said, there are certainly other GMs in the league who do a great job and have built perennial contenders. However, I truly wouldn't include Thomas Dimitroff on that list. He really hasn't been all that impressive, IMO. His first draft was by far his best (Ryan, Baker, Lofton, DeCoud) but beyond that, it's been very average at best. He "vaulted" himself into a lot of people's minds because he made that crazy trade for Julio Jones, but besides that -- his most notable picks are Sean Weatherspoon and William Moore -- both only slightly above average players.
