Quote:
The Jacksonville Jaguars parted ways with director of player personnel, Terry McDonough, and director of pro personnel, Louis Clark, on Monday, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.

Quote:
McDonough was first hired by the Jaguars in 2003 from the Baltimore Ravens and was later promoted to director of player personnel in 2009, following the promotion of Smith to general manager. Clark joined the Jaguars as a college scout in 1997, was promoted to assistant director of pro personnel in 2003 and promoted to director of pro personnel in 2011.

The front office will likely feature other changes as Caldwell begins the process of building his own staff

Kind of a crappy move. Why hang on to these guys until now? They should have been let go with Gene and the rest of his staff. If there were jobs out there for these guys, there most likely isn't now.

The scouting year works on a different time schedule

Because you then fire them [and staff/scouts] during peak scouting times? So not only do you need to find a new head scout but also an entire scouting department...which if he does this way, does it during the off times of scouting and will be able get whom he wants [probably from another team].

I don't think we're cleaning out the scouts, the heads of the departments.

Not at this time no, saying, that was a possibility at the time. Dave said [for now] they stay while he finds a new lead guy.

They all knew they were being let go after the draft. That's why they didn't go to the team luncheon. They knew since Dave came in that this was likely the case. You do this because 4 months just isn't enough time to put together an entire staff, get them all acclimated to the team and get them to rescout players based on this team's needs, rather than their previous team's and get them all up to date with all their new roles.
