I like it. He's a guy that could help stuff the run. Not surprising after cutting Canty and the failure of Marvin Austin. Defensive tackles are looking pretty now actually..

Linval Joseph
Cullen Jenkins
Jonathon Hankins
Markus Kuhn

I'd replace Kuhn with Austin. I still think he's got a chance to be very good.

Kuhn, despite being raw, actually started a game for us last year. He might be older, and wasn't drafted as high, but at least he works his butt off. Austin looks like he just doesn't give a damn. Maybe this will light a fire under him, and if it does, he could be a good player. But I doubt it. Time to cut loose. We don't need to hang onto busts as long as we did with Sintim, Moss, Barden, Beckum, Joseph, etc.

I think part of it was that he didn't really know what he was doing. Maybe he didn't hustle and thats unexcusable for me too, but if having Linval Joseph, Jonathan Hankins Shaun Rogers, Markus Kuhn, Cullen Jenkins, and Mike Patterson in addition to him, doesn't scare him about potentially not making the roster than there is no hope.

Also I don't think Kuhn is any good. Doesn't have any great quality other than hustle.

Wow, Marvin Austin might not even make it to his third year.

Why not? He wont be competing with Hankins for playing time..

Because we have Joseph and Kuhn who has shown more than Austin and we just brought in 3 more DT's in the off-season. How many are we going to have on the roster?

And none of them rush the passer...

Neither does Austin. 0 career sacks Razz

Really like this pick. Big strong run stuffer. Giants defensive line is gonna be stacked next year, especially inside. They're a legit 5 deep at DT. Really happy about this.

JPP, Tuck, Moore, and Kiwi at DE.
Jenkins, Joseph, Patterson, Austin, Hankins at DT.

That's a pretty damn strong DL.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

Hankins has good potential to be a distruptive also. He played far too much and was worn out last year but if we can keep him fresh by rotating him and Linval then I think he can give us a bullrush and maybe he can learn a move or two to go along with great run stuffing ability.

Don't know what the reason was exactly (maybe more double teams, every time I saw tape he was being doubled) but he went from 10 TKL to 4 this year. Could be a number of things, but that to me shows he has the ability to get into the backfield.
