#Browns seriously considering a trade for Dolphins WR Davone Bess, according to a league source. Several teams in the mix.

Oo oo oo good move I like it I like it. He could be a billionaires Wes Welker. He would off seat flash Gordon nicely.

Don't understand why Miami would want to trade him. Great slot option.

I really, really, really like Davone Bess... one of my favorite current Dolphins. Really hope we don't trade him since I don't think his trade value would be that high... probably be a 5th at best, and his production is far greater than that. Extremely sure hands, great slot option. Doesn't have big-play ability, though.

Well first off, he's a FA next summer.
Second of all, we signed Brandon Gibson who can play the slot.
Third of all, we have 2 2nds, 3 3rds. One of those 4 picks can and probably will be used on a slot receiver if Bess is traded. Austin/Swope/Patton all options.

It makes sense to trade Davone but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Bess is one of the top slot receivers in the game.

Sources tell me 99.9% receiver Davone Bess from Miami to Cleveland Browns for mid round picks.

I'd do that for a dollar. Good move for Cleveland. Miami has sights set on Austin.

Read what I said above.

His advantage are that he's great in the slot. Very shifty and has very sure hands, he almost never drops a pass. He can be used as a security blanket for your Quarterback and is one of the best third down options in the game.

The downsides is he doesn't have great speed and therefore offers little to no big play potential. He's also small and can only play in the slot, he cannot play as an outside WR.

In his specific role in an offense, he's one of the best in the NFL. My only request is that you Browns fans continue Dolphins tradition and use the phrase "He's the Bess I ever saw." Smile

Anyway, the report he will go for multiple mid-rounders, I'll be okay with it. Would hate to trade him for a single 5th rounder or lower, though.

Strange since Norv doesn't use slot receivers much and Royal was miserable for the most part when we tried using a slot receiver in Norv's offense.

Hoping it's part of a trade down package
