This is my final mock, bring on the feedback...

2013 NFL Draft:

1st Round
#16 FS Kenny Vaccaro (6’0 / 213) – Texas

- Most people are gonna hate this pick, and while I like Vaccaro, I don’t think he’s the best safety in this class. The brass will love his versatility and athleticism. He could step in from day one and be a highly effective piece on defense.

TRADE: Rams send #22 to Falcons for #30 and #60

#30 LB Alec Ogletree (6’3 / 243) – Georgia

- We trade back with the Falcons who have been rumored to be looking to move up for a pass-rusher. We’re able to still land a highly athletic and rangy LB who’ll help solidify the coverage aspect our corps has lacked. He possesses immense talent, but has some off field/maturity issues he needs to clear up.

2nd Round

TRADE: Rams send #46 and #113 to Jets for #39

#39 WR Justin Hunter (6’4 / 196) – Tennessee

- With us not picking up a WR in the 1st round, we look to move up to secure a playmaker. Hunter definitely falls into this category. He has some question marks that could easily push him into the early 2nd (Inconsistent hands, durability, on-field attitude) but he oozes the talent and athleticism to develop into a star. Something we need at the position.

#60 RB Eddie Lacy (5’11 / 231) – Alabama

- His recent workout and his college injury concerns knock him down the board. With us possessing two backs under 200 lbs. We need that big, bruising back that can pound the rock. Don’t think he has the stamina to be a true bell cow back, but he can be very effective in a two back set. He’s surprisingly lite on his feet for a back of his size. What sets him apart from some of the later round bigger backs is his ability in pass protection this early on and he has some decent hands out of the backfield.

3rd Round

TRADE: Rams send #78 to Ravens for #94 and #165

#94 WR Chris Harper (6’1 / 229) - Kansas State

- We decide to move back again to build some young depth at some key positions. Harper gives us a heady, bigger bodied WR who isn’t afraid to make the tough catch to move the chains. Don’t be fooled though, he still has enough athleticism to make you pay. He’ll easily become a favorite of Sam’s because of his reliable hands.

5th Round

#149 OG Hugh Thornton (6’3 / 319) – Illinois

- One of the more underrated prospects in this draft. He has the skill-set to step in from day one and anchor one of the OG spots. He’s technically sound in protection and possesses the strength to really be a difference maker in the run-game. Brings an overall nastiness to the field. Picking him up and pairing him with Watkins allows us to cut Harvey Dahl and free up some cap.

#165 CB Will Davis (5’11 / 186) – Utah State

- The brass aren’t afraid to go the small school route. He’s got the long, lean build and athleticism you look for and has shown a knack for making plays on the ball. He hasn’t seen the level of competition you’d like and showed he needs some refining at the senior bowl. He’d be depth player with a chance to develop into a starter down the road.

6th Round

#184 DT Mike Purcell (6’3 / 310) – Wyoming

- Another quality depth add here. He doesn’t offer much in terms of pass-rush ability at the next level, but he’s very effective against the run game and dominates the LOS in this area. He’ll be able to give Brockers a blow when needed.

7th Round

#222 LB Michael Mauti (6’2 / 244) – Penn State

- A guy who was bitten by injuries throughout his college career. He comes from the LB pedigree though and he didn’t disappoint when on the field. He’ll at least be a solid special teamer and back-up similar to Josh Hull.

Obviously not a fan of the first round, but i understand it has a likelyhood of becoming reality. We would definitely have one fast, athletic and hard hitting defense thats for sure. I really doubt Hunter makes it to round 2 though.

Yah, Hunter is a guy who is hard to gauge. I think he still possesses enough question marks that he could possibly make it into the 2nd round...

He could easily be the 1st WR off the board though too...

Great job man, I would absolutely love if this draft went down. I just don't know if Hunter would still be there in 2nd, but if so, that would be awesome.

Thanks, I think they both could end up as steals looking back...

I certainly wouldn't mind this draft outcome. Still not a fan of Lacy, even in the 2nd though.

I'm not in love with him, but I think he'd present excellent value at the end of the 2nd round and he can definitely help this offense going forward...
