I see that Pat Williams signed a one day contract so that he could retire as a Viking. It seems like he should have considered retiring as a Bill seeing as we picked him up as an undrafted free agent and he played longer in Buffalo. In the scheme of things i guess it is no big deal but i thought it was interesting!

To clarify, Pat Williams did not approach the Vikings about signing a one day contract to retire with the Vikings.

The Vikings went out of there way to arrange for Williams to fly to MN and sign a one day contract to retire. Food was provided. It was a very nice gesture on the Vikings behalf and they had no obligation to do this for him. Williams himself was content just fading away into retirement but the Vikings made the extra effort to get this done.

Obviously the Bills did not have the same respect and gratitude towards Williams as the Vikings did.
