There are draft picks and there are draft picks. Whether we like them or not or agree with them or not, it is what it is.
The Jets have many holes we can all agree with and at positions all over the field.
So where do we go, where do we go with these 2 first round picks.
It could very well be that we draft down with one if not 2 of these picks.
Which would make sense, HOWEVER.
Keeping to the original thought, who do we pick?
The Jets could pick a safe pick like an OL which would give any QB we have currently more time to throw.
A true blue chipper.
But the Jets I fear will have to make an attempt at the sexy pick. My guess is that they will draft Tavon Ausin.
The consensus "can do" offensive weapon that the team desperately needs.
Now whether that is number 9 or 13 remains to be seen.
The Jets could always add an OL in rounds 3-4.
So it remains to be seen, do we go safe or do the Jets jump on the most versatile WR/KR/RB in the draft.
My money is on Sexy Pick, and knowing Woody and his insatiable desire for headlines, look for the Sexy Pick as well.

I like Austin a lot, but if it came to him or a trade back where we get a Damontre Moore, Jarvis Jones or even Markus Hunt and a Wr like Hopkins, Woods or Patton, I'd take the latter every time.

But at 9 and 13 what are the sexy picks? Tyler Eifert? Ryan Nassib? Tavon Austin (who I think we don't need)? I don't think there's really a sexy pick at those positions besides the olb, OL, or safety (Vaccaro). I really like the thought of Warmack at 9 or Eifert at 13 or maybe later?

no QB or TE is even remotely what this team needs with the #9 or #13 pick.

New GM IMO means building the line. My question is do you take the best OL available at #9 or a pass rusher? If Geno falls that scares me. We seem to like to have 22 QBs on the roster. I feel we trade one of the picks and take pass rusher first then add linemen later (I would prefer other way around). No need to draft a QB at all and a decent RB and TE could be obtained in the later rounds.

Must be Spring, JG has awoken from his slumber. Hope hibernation was good buddy. Laughing

I agree though, I think there's a good chance Idzik takes an OL early.

We all will be. Im not a fan of taking a guard as high as were looking, but at this point we need to just get better everywhere at the point of attack. Pass rush and offensive line is a good start at build a good foundation.

Do not want Wilson.

I want a pass rusher with one of those two firsts and a trade down with the other.

I wouldn't mind taking warmack and cooper or warmack and eifert. Vaccaro would be a good option at 13 as well.

Trade down would be the primary goal. If we could get a top tier pass rusher at 9 I'd love dropping down to the end of the first and grabbing a future first. We could target one of the Wrs that slips or a guard like warford or perhaps eifert slips. Then we'd still have our high second rounder to grab another impact guy.

If I were King for a Day or say the Jets GM, my best case scenario would be to use the #9 to take the best remaining O linemen and use # 13 to take the best remaining QB prospect and in the second round take the best remaining O lineman.. from there on out, Rex can grab whatever defensive talent he likes or a receiver..we really need to upgrade the right side of the offensive line and at the same time hopefully grab a QB that might make a difference next year..especially with what would be a pretty fine Oline that gives him time to play the QB position rather than 'run for your life' which seems to be the recent past.
