It's been a fun offseason and I have had fun debating players with you guys. If I were the GM this would be the way I would finish out our offseason. I would like to see our offense have more of a spread type attack. It fits our personnel best.

Trades:
Trade up to Tennessee (10). Give up pick 16 and our third round pick.

Trade down pick 22 to Philadelphia who trades up to get EJ Manuel. We get their second and third.

Draft:
10 Tavon Austin WR West Virginia:
Pros:
• Extremely fast, not only 40 time but game speed
• Has video game esq agility. Can stop and start effortlessly
• Versatile. Can play WR, RB, and RET.
• Good hands
• Very productive
Cons:
• Size. Not the biggest target
• Limited to the slot
Summary:
The guy is electric. Bradford loves throwing inside and Austin and Cook would give him 2 dynamic options. I believe Austin will be an upgrade over Amendola.
Compares to:
Percy Harvin WR Seattle Seahawks

35 Eric Reid FS LSU:
Pros:
• Great athlete
• Smart. Good grades in school.
• Heavy hitter
• Gets downhill in the run game in a hurry
• Solid in pass coverage
Cons:
• Took some bad angles in his junior year
• Not a ton of interception production
Summary:
Going into the 2012 season Reid looked like a top 10-15 lock. Didn't have as great a junior campaign as expected. Reid is still very talented and has all-pro type ability
Compares to:
Louis Delmas FS Detroit Lions

46 Larry Warford OG Kentucky:
Pros:
• Big, strong, athletic
• Great in the run game and in pass protection
• Versatile, can play all 3 interior line spots
• Shut down big time talent
Cons:
Weight, may eat himself out of the league
Summary:
Surprised he hasn't gotten much more hype. Great athlete for his size. Fits well in the power man blocking scheme.
Compares to:
Carl Nicks LG Tampa Bay Buccaneers
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cYIGR4EWIKA

67 Da'Rick Rodgers WR Tennessee Tech:
Pros:
• Very physical
• Great athlete
• Fearless over the middle
• Great hands
• Productive
Cons:
• Attitude
• Drugs
• Needs more polish
Summary:
Has first round talent. There are character issues that go beyond marijuana. Has the tools to be a dominating X WR.
Compares to:
Dez Bryant WR Dallas Cowboys
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ujDgel3evAI

113 Marcus Lattimore RB South Carolina:
Pros:
• Runs with power, shiftiness, and vision
• Agile
• Good receiver
• Productive
• Excellent attitude
Cons:
• Injury history
• Speed
Summary:
When healthy he was as good a RB there was in college. If he can regain his form he will be the steal of the draft.
Compares to:
Frank Gore RB San Francisco 49ers

149 Sanders Commings: Big athletic CB with some off the field issues dropping his stock.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HUMf1-grkO4

184 Kwame Geathers DT Georgia: Run stuffing rotational DT
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x1ZrFOxQXz0

222 Reggie Dunn KR Utah: 4 kickoff returns for TD in his final season of college. Blazing speed.

Sign:
Quintin Mikell SS St Louis: Market is flooded with free agent safety's. He knows the scheme and the players on the team. A cheap one year deal should get the job done.

Daryl Smith SLB Jacksonville: Coming off an injured season, 31 4-3 OLBs aren't in high demand. Fills our SLB hole for a season.

QB: Sam Bradford
RB: Daryl Richardson/Isaiah Pead/Marcus Lattimore
FB/TE2: Lance Kendricks
TE: Jared Cook
X: Brian Quick/Da'Rick Rodgers
Y: Chris Givens
Slot: Tavon Austin
LT: Jake Long
LG: Larry Warford
C: Scott Wells
RG: Harvey Dahl
RT: Roger Saffold

LE: Chris Long
RE: Robert Quinn
DT: Michael Brockers
DT: Kendall Langford
WLB: Jo-Lonn Dunbar
MLB: James Laurinaitis
SLB: Daryl Smith
CB1: Janoris Jenkins
CB2: Courtland Finnegan
CB3: Trumaine Johnson
FS: Eric Reid
SS: Quintin Mikell

Pretty good draft, there is some things I'd change, but overall the picks make sense and are pretty good value. Only real pick that stands out to me is Geathers. He isn't worth wasting a pick on, he doesn't play anywhere like his size would suggest...

As for the free agency, I don't see us getting both Smith and Mikell. I think it's one or the other...

If that were the case then I would only sign Smith. We have a few Safety candidates in house already.
