Kyle Long OT Oregon- Don't get me started on this dude. I have no clue why every one is so high on this bum. He has character concerns and has had problems with the law. He has not played that much football. The only reason why everybody likes him is because of his blood lines.

LET ME STATE IF HE DIDN'T CARRY THE LONG FAMILY NAMES AND GENES HE WOULDN'T EVEN BE IN THE TALK OF GETTING DRAFTED IN THE SECOUND ROUND!
Disagree. Hes just as good as Terron Armstead. Definite 2nd rd talent.

Just thought it would be fun to re-visit some of our projections.

Yeah, most of us had Tree as overrated... Oops haha.

He still needs work getting off blocks, but other than that he has been probably the best player on our team thus far.

He'll get better at it. He leads the team in tackles right now and is definitely explosive and always around the ball... And he's soooo fast

Not really... he's been decent in pass coverage and has made a few splash plays, but he has been terrible at getting off blocks and maintaining gap integrity, and has been a big part of the reason our run defense looks so bad right now.

Luckily, those are problems that he can fix and will be fixed with time. When it all comes together for him, he will probably be one of the best linebackers in the game, he has that kind of talent. Reminds me of Robert Quinn and how he was so terrible against the run and holding containment against running QBs his first and second year, but is now a complete, dominant DE.

I completely agree.

At times - Ogletree looks awesome out there but the majority of the time that the opposing teams running gets a long gain of 20 yards or more has been the complete ineptitude of Langford and the inability of Ogletree to either maintain gap integrity and/or getting off blocks.

In the Texans game - almost every long run by Foster was due to a huge hole right at Langfords spot with Ogletree out of position.

Langford has played well at times but whenever the opposing team has a long run - it is almost entirely Langfords fault with an assist by Ogletree.

However, I see HUGE upside with Ogletree because I definitely believe that with more experience he will be able to maintain gap integrity much much better. It appeared on a number of occasions that he simply overran the play - probably due to too much enthusiasm and not sticking to his lane - very fixable.

On a side note - almost every time that Foster ran to the middle left, he got stuffed by Brockers and Dunbar.

Almost everyone had Eddie Lacy on their overrated list. Literally, almost everyone.

Yeah, I have no idea how he does it but he balls. Its not pretty but he is good.

On the topic of Tree, I said apart from his ability to stick to blocks he has probably been the best. So as far as playmaking goes he has.

He has made some nice plays in coverage and even stripped a ball, albeit it was from the hands of guy who had blown past him. Ogletree looks exactly like what I said he did coming out of college. Fluid in coverage with good instincts, but lacking strength and toughness, possibly even heart.

I'm still not sold on that pick, but it's too early to call it.
