Not good. Sad

That certainly didn't look good, hope he is alright. Geno needs to step up and start winning some offensive-zone draws. And lol at Glass at almost scoring his first point of the year

Initial word is that it's mostly a dental problem. Still early with the information but hopefully that's all it is.

Back to back to back shutouts! #15 in a row! Without a doubt the key part of this game was the Pens killing of a 5 minute major and then a two man advantage during that same PP. Cooke had a great game as well as Vokoun.

Now speculation is that it's a broken jaw. Sad

Taken to the hospital.

The other thing that sucks is all the Crosby haters will be out talking crap saying Crosby is a baby and stuff. I don't care who you are that was a nasty shot to the face.

@RealKyper: #87update. Can confirm #Penguins Crosby had surgery yesterday to his jaw. Extent of the damage still being evaluated 2day. Out indefinitely

This sucks. We need to burn all these blue jerseys. UNBELIEVABLE!!

The man can't catch a break! It's probably the third time that he gets injured when he's a lock for the Art and Hart (well, I've read people making a case for Kane... but, let's face it, Crosby would win it/was a lock).

Selanne had the same king of injury a few years back, IIRC. Olympics year, he couldn't chew and when he came back, in time for the Olympics, he wasn't that good.

He does indeed have a broken jaw. Brick wall

Those god awful jerseys need to be thrown into a volcano and never seen again! He got his concussion wearing those ugly things and now this. All the excitement from a few days ago has been quieted. I was hoping that it was just a dental problem but the fears have been confirmed. It's unbelievable the string of bad luck he has had the past two years. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time with a deflected shot. This really stinks.

Hopefully he will be back at least for the playoffs. Injuries were the biggest obstacle to the Pens and now they lose Martin and Crosby.

The latest on Crosby is that he has been released from the hospital and his jaw was never wired shut which is a big positive. Still no official word on when he will be able to return to action but Mark Madden said 2-3 weeks maximum. Considering the severity of what happened that would great news if it is indeed that timeframe.

Also Jagr has been traded to the Bruins. Can you imagine the storylines if the Bruins and Pens face each other in the playoffs?

I know that its a shortened season but hats off to these guys. They are playing awesome right now. And doing so without Sid, Geno. Neal and Martin. Applause

Great job guys!

Heck of a start to the playoffs with a convincing 5-0 victory in Game 1. Cool

No Crosby no problem. The only blemish was an injury to Neal. Hopefully it's not serious.

PP was terrific PK was even better. Solid game all the way around. You know it's a good night when Tanner Glass scores.

I read somewhere that a bracket/poll had the Pens winning the cup.

We'll see. I've always felt that the Cup was the most difficult championship to win.

I absolutely think the Pens are winning the Stanley Cup. They're in beast mode, as usual. They killed it last night!

Iggy shoots so hard the Islander starting goalie didn't wanna play anymore.

The only problem... that back up guy made some outstanding saves.

I agree. The intensity in the NHL playoffs is unlike anything else.
