After playing only one regular-season night game in 2012 — a mandatory Thursday nighter — the team is again registering as a strong draw for the under-the-lights TV slots. The Vikings have been slotted to play three night games in a span of 18 days during the middle of the season. They will have an appearance on “Monday Night Football” (at the New York Giants in Week 7); a Sunday nighter (home vs. Green Bay in Week 8 ); and a Thursday night cameo against the Redskins at Mall of America Field in Week 10.

I'm gonna say 9-7 +/-2, because I think 11-5 is more likely than 6-10. I think 7-9 is our floor.

We were 7-1 at home last year. Home schedule 2013:

Week 3 vs CLE
Week 6 vs CAR
Week 8 vs GB
Week 10 vs WAS
Week 13 vs CHI
Week 15 vs PHI
Week 17 vs DET

I definitely believe we can finish at least 6-2 at home.

Our road/neutral schedule is brutal
Week 1 at DET
Week 2 at CHI
Week 4 vs PIT (in London)
Week 7 at NYG
Week 9 at DAL
Week 11 at SEA
Week 12 at GB
Week 14 at BAL
Week 16 at CIN

Two games vs 2012 playoff teams at home (WAS, GB), both on short weeks. Four games vs 2012 playoff teams on road (SEA, GB, BAL, CIN).

My initial reaction was 8-8 +/- 2 as well.

Would be surprised to have more than 8 wins.

Also, I don't like the early bye and to play in Seattle again.

Much Tougher schedule than last year.

Weeks 7 through 14 are going to be rough. Not a single game that I can confidently predict a win.

Good teams, and 5 of 8 are on the road.

I love it.

Time to show everyone last year wasn't a fluke.

A lot will ride on the performance of Ponder and the defense though this year. We can't run Adrian into the ground.

I'll go ahead and say another confident 10-6.

Why aren't you optimistic?

The schedule is tough, but I think a general improvement from all the young guys that make up the core of this team, and another solid draft, and we should be back where we were last year.

Regardless, it should be an interesting year. I'll be so freaking amped up for weeks 11-14 (Seattle, Greenbay, Chicago and Baltimore)
