For all the optimism, but who predicted 8-8 last year. All I saw was 11-5 & 10-6 and winning the NFC East. So making any predictions now are just wishful thinking.

Well put. Hands up all of us who have been disappointed by the Cowboys in recent seasons. Yep, there's a lot of hands.

Week 1 Vs Giants - W - We finally beat Eli at our place.
Week 2 @ Chiefs - W - We are just more talented.
wk 3 Vs Rams - W - Dude, it's the Rams. 'Nuff said.
wk 4 @ Chargers - W - Philip Rivers is going to be bishing at his teammates early and often.
wk 5 vs Broncos - L - Too much Peyton to Welker.
wk 6 Vs Redskins - L - RGIII, if healthy, will beat us.
wk 7 @ Eagles - L - Their offense will beat our defense. 'Boys fans step out onto the ledge.
wk 8 @ Lions - W - We will double Calvin on every play and that takes away pretty much their entire offense.
wk 9 vs Vikings - W - Peterson will run all over us, but Ponder won't beat us.
wk 10 @ Saints - L - We may be playing in a dome, but the Brees will be overpowering.
wk 11 Bye Week
wk 12 @ Giants - L - Effing Eli. I hate that guy.
wk 13 vs Raiders On Thanksgiving Day - W - Thanks schedule maker. The Raiders suck.
wk 14 @ Bears - W - If we can stop Forte, we will win a close one.
wk 15 vs Packers - L - Rodgers to Nelson, early and often.
wk 16 @ Redskins - W - RGIII, will not be healthy, and we will win.
wk 17 vs Eagles - W - Kiffin's defense comes through and stops Chip Kelly's offense on the final drive of a game decided by 3 points or less. Romo gets no credit, despite Dallas making the playoffs in a win or go home game.

Final Record: 10-6 and a Wild Card berth.

This is the time of the year to be optimistic. Have we been let down before? Of course we have, but if there is going to be a change, there has to be one turnaround year, why not this year? (WhyNotZoidberg?) With this draft class, and recent history of drafting, I have huge faith that the Boys will figure out the holes on their team this year and finally shut everyone up (esp in New York, where I'm from).

With that said, in a realistic prediction- I'll go with an 11-5 record and either winning the East or tying and losing due to math and getting a wildcard spot. Down with the naysayers!

I can see us going 9-7 or 8-8 again with this schedule

There is nothing wrong with being optimistic. However there is a reason why they play the games, and this team has some holes to fill. Let's hope for a good draft, fill those gaps, and as the season approaches we can see what we truly have.

But the schedule looks good.

Week 1 Vs Giants - W - We come out strong the first game of the season and finally win against the Giants at home.

Week 2 @ Chiefs - L - This is the kind of game that Dallas loses. A much better than you think KC wins.

wk 3 Vs Rams - W - Dallas gets back on track.

wk 4 @ Chargers - L - Didn't you hear? The Chargers are going to win the Super Bowl.

wk 5 vs Broncos - W - For some reason, we've been awfully good vs. Peyton.

wk 6 Vs Redskins - W - We get revenge for last year at home.

wk 7 @ Eagles - W - Chip Kelly isn't enough for his first Cowboys' win.

wk 8 @ Lions - L - Another one of those games where we play crappy all game and lose when we should win.

wk 9 vs Vikings - W - Ponder just isn't good enough.

wk 10 @ Saints - W - We tend to show up against good teams at this point in the year.

wk 11 Bye Week

wk 12 @ Giants - L - We'll go 1-1 vs. the Giants.

wk 13 vs Raiders On Thanksgiving Day - W - Hard to lose against the Raiders. Downside - Raiders get Clowney.

wk 14 @ Bears - L - At Chicago in December. Ouch.

wk 15 vs Packers - W - Just the kind of game to make you think the 'Boys are playoff bound.

wk 16 @ Redskins - L - RGIII is back at full strength.

wk 17 vs Eagles - L - Until we show otherwise, we lose the games we need to win.

Verdict: 9-7. If that's good enough for the playoffs, Garrett keeps his job; otherwise, he's gone.

Week 1 Vs Giants - W - Giants pass rush wont be what it was in the past and our line will just a little itty bit better than last year
Week 2 @ Chiefs - W - At half time Dallas fans have a heart attack before Romo throws a game winning pass to Beasley.
wk 3 Vs Rams - W - Bradford makes Claiborne look really good throwing two picks.
wk 4 @ Chargers - W - No o-line improvement and no receiver help.
wk 5 vs Broncos - W - Peyton doesnt play wel against Dallas, though that was when we were a 3-4.
wk 6 Vs Redskins - L - RG III torches us.
wk 7 @ Eagles - W - The Eagles will be a circus this year. Chip Kelly's offense wont work. Vick will be a turnover machine. The replacement will likely make rookie mistakes or be just bad.
wk 8 @ Lions - W - We will win due to lack of balance. Also, going out on a limb, Calvin Johnson is injured week 7 and doesnt play week 8.
wk 9 vs Vikings - W - Ponder makes our secondary look good.
wk 10 @ Saints - L - Brees makes our secondary look bad.
wk 11 Bye Week
wk 12 @ Giants - L - Giants win in a come from behind victory.
wk 13 vs Raiders On Thanksgiving Day - W - We win big.
wk 14 @ Bears - L - Romo throws three picks despite this being a November game.
wk 15 vs Packers - L - Packers win big.
wk 16 @ Redskins - L - THe epic collapse continues.
wk 17 vs Eagles - W - Garrett holds onto his job one more week as he wins and gets in the playoffs. Whether he stays depeds on what happens in the playoffs.

Record 10-6 with a 3rd or 4th seed in playoffs.

Redskins 9-7
Giants 9-7
Eagles- 6-10

Why not be optimistic? The team fell just one game short of the playoffs last season while playing with an insanely injury-ravaged defense that was only a shell of their true defense. They also had a tougher schedule last year.

If the key players stay healthy, the Cowboys can easily make the playoffs this year.
