|
|
|
Quote: | The Patriots just submitted an offer sheet on Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders. some actual restricted free agent movement. Wow |
http://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora/statuses/321991206609489921
He was signed to a 1-year deal.
The Patriots will need to pay the Steelers a 3rd round pick if the Steelers chose not to match the offer sheet.
***Update***
The Steelers have $2,069,760 in available cap space as of April 4 and the team has 5 days to match the offer the Patriots made to Sanders.
***Update***
Quote: | And PITT has until Monday to match the offer sheet or take NE's 3rd-rd pick. Again, money won't be determining factor. Money will be modest. |
http://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/statuses/321997190107123713
Quote: | The pick in play relating to Emmanuel Sanders is #91. The Patriots would be left with 4 picks (29, 59, 226, 235) if offer not matched. |

***Update***
Quote: | Early rumbling is that #Patriots offer sheet is $4 million for one year #steelers |

***Update***
Quote: | Expect Steelers to match Patriots offer sheet and retain WR Emmanual Sanders. He's vital after loss of Mike Wallace and offer easy to match |
http://twitter.com/Edwerderespn/statuses/322006954069352449
Quote: | What could prevent Steelers from matching Pats on Emmanual Sanders? Only 3 teams have less cap space. Pick No. 91 may tempt GM Kevin Colbert |
http://twitter.com/Edwerderespn/statuses/322009542579859456
***Update***
Quote: | Emmanuel Sanders deal is 1 year, $2.5 mill. Many believe its a clever ploy by NE, which likely has long-term deal worked out already. |

***Update***
Quote: | Pitt has matched the RFA offer sheet on Emmanuel Sanders. First RFA to get offer in 3 years |

It sucks that I will have to hate him now. I doubt the Steelers match the offer with their current cap situation. _________________

I don't blame Sanders for signing the offer sheet from the Patriots even if it's not for a lot more money. Because it forces the Steelers to match and give him more money (If they want to keep him)...

Kind of odd that it's only a 1 year deal. Unless there is a wink wink deal with the agent for an extension... |
