I just don't get the hope and dream for Ausberry.

The guy has just not shown anything in his time here. Not even a spark.

So what gives? Is it just hope? Or do people really see something there. Because I haven't seen a thing out of this guy.

Three coordinators in his first three years after switching positions might have something to do with that. It's not like he got a whole bunch of playing time to help his development either.

There is one play in particular i do recall, it was in Miami he caught the ball and trucked Kevin Burnett. If that isnt considered a spark then idk what is.

But you're right, its mostly hope. I guess im a hopeless romantic who would rather keep and develop raw players, then put my hopes and dreams in washed up FA's or continuously have blind faith that we will draft the next Tony Gonzalez EVERY YEAR during the draft.

He's still riding the hype of a preseason his rookie season. Had that game w/ a TD against AZ and the hype machine was born.

The fact he looks like Vernon Davis just gets those hopeful juices flowing.

Make or break for him this offseason. Needs to show in year 3 he's a capable TE blocking and running routes.

Yeah. I don't care about the different coordinators and all that at the TE position. Because either you can block or you can't. Either you can get open or you can't. Either you can make plays or you can't. And he hasn't gotten the playing time to develop because he hasn't earned it. I tell my players all the time that I'm not gonna give you anything. If you want it you have to TAKE it.

Period

I'll say it over and over. I like Ryan Otten from San Jose State. I may be biased after watching so many of my alma mater's games. But as a playmaker he would be a steal in round 5 or 6.

Man I wish we had a couple 3rd rounders. Guy like Escobar could fall there. Still like Fauria in the 4th-5th.

Eifert with the 3rd overall pick. Haha
Speak to the hand

Looks like the next Gronkowski or Graham to me. I hope we draft a good TE this draft even if it's not Eifert.

Otten caught my eye in the Military bowl. Looked like he had nice hands and read zones very well.

Also like the kid David Fales a lot.

He touched Dennis Allen's seat before the game.

A couple of smart trade downs would make your wish come true.
