Welcome to the second installment of prospect showdown. Zach Ertz won out over Tyler Eifert in the first installment.

Remember, this is not an argument about who presents better value at their projected draft position, but simply who is the better prospect.

Also, we are not voting on who we would rather draft for the Rams.

I went with Dion Jordan, because his versatility is so impressive and Ziggy Ansah has less experience.

Ziggy Ansah...I care about their ability to get to the passer. Ansah combines great size with a great motor, a power game and the athleticism to stress the edge.

Both need a lot of development on their pass rush moves but imo, Jordan lacks the power to complement his speed.

I chose Ziggy, although both are extremely freakish-- I believe Ziggy is a beast DE who has both power and speed.

I would agree with you in terms of pure pass rushing potential, but Dion can do more than just rush the passer. Dion Jordan increases the flexibility that defenses have pre-snap.

I think it is a good debate to have though, and I do not feel overly passionate as to my opinion.

I chose Ziggy. I like Dion but I feel his slight frame and ridiculous height will hinder him. I think Ziggy is stouter, stronger and more relentless. Not to mention, with the right DL coach, Ziggy has a much higher ceiling IMO.

So can Ziggy. He has the size to be a big time run stopper at DE. Jordan has cover skills but again, the most important part of the game is pass rushing. I think Ziggy has more potential as both a pass rusher and run stopper. With the Rams running a 4-3, I prefer Ansah over Jordan. I have major questions about Jordan's pass rush ability. He could be Jason Taylor or he could be Manny Lawson.

I chose Dion Jordan! He is the next Freak Javon Kearse. similar built too. I watchedJordan play live and the kid is quick and his first step in crazy fast. Ive seen him in practice and he ran down lamichael james. Very good athlete.

I can see your points, but the OP specifically asks not to consider "fit" for the Rams.

Depends on the scheme you run. Run a 34, Jordan. Run 43, Ansah. If scheme wasnt a factor then I give the slight edge to Jordan. That size and speed can be deadly if utilized correctly. Could just as easily bust but thats the chance Id take.
