Eagles trade FB Stanley Havili to the Colts for DL Geathers

Regardless of how talented a player he is, this was a great trade. Havili was worth less than nothing, and our D-line depth up to this point was comical. He may have bounced around a lot, but I look at it optimistically: 6 teams saw enough in this guy to give him a shot. There have been plenty of players that were cut by other teams who shined on others.

I loved Havili coming out of USC and thought he'd be a great FB for the Eagles but with the hire of Chip Kelly, getting rid of him was inevitable. As most have said, it's apparent that we're going to carry 4 TE's this year which I don't mind. If anything James Casey can lineup at fullback when we need him to. I don't know much about Geathers but he's a big guy who fits the system so I don't mind this trade.

It's a pretty crucial move man.

Honestly though, Havili is gonna make a marginal impact in Indianapolis, he's gonna breakout as one of the best pass catching fullbacks.
