https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/02/26/performance-based-value-pittsburgh-steelers/

The top Steelers based on their cap hit and performance were:
1. Lawrence Timmons
2. Cortez Allen
3. Keenan Lewis

It sucks to lose Lewis but this is a good sign moving forward for Cortez Allen.

The worst valued steelers based on their cap hit and performance weren't a surprise:

1. Troy Polumalu
2. Casey Hampton
3. James Harison

I like the idea of the article, not sure on the execution. Mike Wallace was the team's leading WR last year, and only had a cap hit of 2.7. He had 8 TD's last year yet and just shy of 1000 yds yet his "Performance based value" is just 1 mil? Max Starks was a starting LT for all 16 games with a similar cap hit to Wallace. His performance value is less than a million according to PFF.

They are using their already flawed grading and coming up with some warped values for guys. A LT who starts 16 games, even if were awful (Starks hasn't been, he was the most consistent of the entire OL), has more value than that.

i'd certainly think that with the way Timmons played last year (best defender on #1 D) and those young cbs were on 3rd and 4th round contracts, they'd be of more value.

I wish the numbers were based on the games they did play. Yeahh obviously the most injured players will have the worst value. A monkey could tell you that!!
